In modern America, the Bill of Rights along with ( i think) the other 13-15 amendments i believe are too vague, especially the Bill of Rights. The wording seems too outdated, and the translated meanings generalized...

should the Bill of Rights be rewritten to set much more clear standards??

and another, using the Amendments to protect against felony. So does the Constitution/Bill of Rights overrule everything that is the US justice system???

There really is no need to rewrite them.

It's far too old to still be truly relevant and functional. A rewrite that keeps some of the better parts while extensively modernizing it would be ideal.

Would you like to give us an example.

Maybe he is but we can't say that without knowing.

Sure, some of the Bill of Rights are outdated, but not all of them. And I would say the most vague one would be the first amendment.

I would propose amending the amendments, not a rewrite. BUUUUUTTTT I do not trust the people in charge. I think only philosophers should be kings.

Ya amend it there is no need to rewrite it. I would be horrified if the Constitution was rewritten. I don't care who's in charge they will mold it to fit there beliefs.

Not just the Bill Of Rights but the Constitution as a whole is flawed. There are gaping loopholes and fuzzy wordings that make it exceedingly easy for criminals to slip through the net and the average person to go around preaching hatred and bigotry. The Constitution and Bill Of Rights are hundreds of years old - again, case in point, you have no real air-force because they didn't have aeroplanes back then.

Anyway, what's wrong with gun-control? It's rather stupid that your average American can strut down the street with a weapon so long as they have the proper license for it (which is really quite easily obtained).

Gun control is another topic I don't have a good stance on. I live in Texas, and I can definitely see the benefits of having a gun. I have a pistol in my car, a pistol on my person, and several at home.

I have had to pull my pistol out several times, including today, actually.

Then amend it don't rewrite it.

First off since I live in America let me say that I have never seen someone "strut down the street" with a gun. Second if we restrict the use of guns then it will only be taking guns out of the hands of Americans who want to defend themselves since criminals will always find ways to get guns.

i never said rewrite the constitution itself, i said rewrite the amendments, especially the first 10, to make the wording and the just much more clearer. I highly doubt most people know exactly how people spoke 200+ years ago.

Uh-huh, that's true. But read this and tell me America doesn't need some change in gun laws:

Anyone against gun control in the US should look away now. The US is second in national rates of deaths by firearm, with 11.3 deaths per 100,000 in total. Of these, 6.4 per 100,000 were using their largely defensive weapon of gun to check themselves out, with 4.4 using a gun to kill somebody else. Only Albania was higher, with a homicide rate of 17.6 per 100,000. Most of Western Europe is below 1 per 100,000, including the UK, with a homicide-by-firearm rate of only 0.1. Some would suggest that this is related to the number of weapons of gun per capita[1] and is expected, but they are probably looking away right now anyway.

I did but this really gives me no reason to think the laws should be changed. Yes guns are used in the US quite often to kill people but what do you think will happen if we take them away? People will be unable to defend themselves from criminals who have guns illegally. and even if criminals find it hard to get guns murders will not stop. Criminals will kill people with other things.
