Sorry Freakenstien. I'm going to be picking on you some.
close-minded individuals Atheism, especially if they are content with their religion; it is like vice-versa where they force their beliefs on us. It just doesn't work, does it?
I think you are trying to say that theists are close minded when it comes to science and history that contradicts religion. I see many atheists who consider theists to be close minded people in general. So, as a response to those considering theists to be close minded people in general...
Can we
please stop referring to theists as close minded? It gives the impression that theists are, over all, close minded people. This is a stereotype that outspoken atheists must stop repeating.
When it comes to religion, many people will believe in God no matter what evidence is presented against them. However, these people are often open minded when it comes to politics, history, and other forms science that does not conflict with their beliefs.
Let's say there's a theist who does not believe in evolution. They might be brilliant mechanics or genius accountants.
I was having a conversation with my uncle about politics. We share nearly identical political views. After we talked about politics, he started talking about God and how God was helping him and my aunt.
Theists may or may not be close minded towards things such as evolution as atheists may or may not be close minded towards capitalism or communism or socialism or thisism or thatism.
Nobody knows everything and everyone holds some form of belief close to their heart.
Nevertheless, we should never slight in showing the correct pieces of evidence that contradicts the many concepts of the religion, in hopes that those that see some of the truths emerging would learn the Atheist side of life.
This I do agree with. However, it bugs me when atheists go all out to disprove theism.
Thunderfoot is a very brilliant person. However, I find that he is very ignorant when it comes to politics and I'm sick and tired of his tirade against theism. He makes many great points about religion and why it doesn't make sense, but sometimes he seems to go a bit far.
I hear some atheists complain that people will often vote for someone simply because the person they voted for is Christian. I often find the same is true when it comes to atheists voting on someone primarily because that person is atheist.
Some people take atheism too far. It's a good thing to challenge religion. It's a good thing to challenge absolutely everything, especially the things you believe in most. That includes politics and science. But some people do go too far and create these unnecessary biases.
