Are they real or not? I am very curious to hear everyones opinion. Le's Discuss. No matter which side you are on, please explain why you feel this way so others can better understand your opinion. Thanks!

Even though intelligent life undoubtebly exists elsewhere i doubt we will ever meet it.

Chances are there will be us, and maybe 1000 other planets like ours, now.
.

Probably more like millions of planets similar to ours.

You may think that's a big number, but imagine, our universe is expanding constantly so 1000 planets like ours is a very small number.

Umm.. it's expanding as in things are moving far apart, not making more of itself. In this context the expansion of the universe has no bearing on the quantification of the matter it contains.

Now, there may be more "intelligent" life forms out there but not in this time period. Which is pretty weird since time is an irrelevant thing in space.

Actually ours is a rather young galaxy, so it would actually stand to reason that if there is intelligent life it's either much younger, or much older, depending on where it formed and how rapidly it has evolved. And time is not irrelevant, in fact quite the opposite.

I underestimated, okay?

That's what I meant.

How so?

It takes time for a planet to stabilize to allow even basic organic life to form. After that you need time for that organic life to evolve. using the earth as a measuring stick to some extent it took around 4.5 billion years for life to get where it's at now. We could probably figure this could vary within maybe a few million years or so for other planets. This would mean a solar systems age is very important in determining whether there is intelligent life or not.
Many of the solar systems out there that could potentially support life like ours are either much younger (around a billion or two years old) or much older (around 6-9 billion years old)

Well, I think that there's probably like plants, microbes, etc. Maybe some small animals similar to dinosaurs, but I don't think there are like ET things...at least not close to us. If there are ghosts and aliens, that would mean that aliens could have ghosts too, and I don't think I believe in super smart alien ghosts...

Are you saying you don't think there might be other forms of intelligent life in the universe because you don't think alien ghosts exist?
