Why does it seem like for every one active Christian on here there are 15 active Atheists... Okayyyyyyy. I used to be Christian, but now I am just here. In my experience, I hated always thinking that my life was set out before me. That God always knew what deicision I was going to make. I sat down for almost two hours debating wether or not God though I was going to stay sitting down or stand up and get some food. NO JOKE. Pitiful, I know. But still. In some ways, God was like the best friend that you could always mess something up with, but still come back and apologize and be loved. You could tell him anything, and he wouldn't tell a soul. The ultimate friend. BUT. The big issue. Is that Him speaking to me, or just the little voice in your head-that-pretty-much-everyone-has-that-tells-you-what-is-right-and-what-is-wrong? Yeahhhh. ___
Christian= THAT IS GOD IN YOUR HEAD AND HEART AND YOU KNOW IT. Atheist= Don't believe that fools Bull crap! You know that it is scientifically proven that there is a filter in your brain that almost everyone has that tells you what is right and what is wrong! ____
Something like that.
I know this probably isn't helping anything, but just wanted to try and should the third option! Sit back, relax, eat a brownie, and get on with your life!
Possibilianism is a philosophy which rejects both the idiosyncratic claims of traditional theism and the positions of certainty in atheism in favor of a middle, exploratory ground.
Atheism isn't necessarily a position of certainty, so the basic premise of this philosophy is flawed.
I do believe in a God, but not they're God (The Christian God to be more specific). A long time ago i started doing some research, but then i found this video named "10 questions that every intelligent Christian must answer", it really cleared up my mind, maybe it will for you.
I'm a bit more of a Atheist than a Christian, this doesn't mean I don't believe in God. Remember this?
You know that it is scientifically proven that there is a filter in your brain that almost everyone has that tells you what is right and what is wrong!
Also that 'little voice' isn't consistent for everyone, something we would expect if the voice was coming from a single external source. Also if that source is suppose to be perfect we would expect that advise to be flawless which isn't the case, again making this 'voice' coming from God to be doubtful.
I'm a bit more of a Atheist than a Christian, this doesn't mean I don't believe in God.
Actually being atheist does mean you don't believe in God.
There really is not a gray area with atheism. It's either you are or you aren't. You might be agnostic, or something else. There are a lot of fence-straddling positions to label it. But atheism is not it.
