ak47 is good in regular fighting because you need to take out the guy holding a gun at you as fast as possible and the fire power is amazing but there is like no ammo so you need like extended mag or dual mag. m16 is good in zombies because the 3 round burst is a great ammo conserver and in zombies you need your ammo. -from a cod player
people it doesn't matter what the stats in a "video game" say in the modern day the M16 is one of the most produced and popuralized weapons out there, more accuracy more rate of fire and now with a better round the 6.8 (wink, wink the m16 beowulf fires .50 cal round so suck it a$$wholes). the Ak is reliable when dealing with mud and water but it cant fire full on hammer down trigger pull fire because the parts are loose and would jam within 1 min. P.S I'm joining the USMC so i know what im talking about.
Honestly, you have to take into perspective the facts that neither gun was designed in comparison for another. They weren't made for competition; the Kalashnikov AK-47 was designed to be a cheap, reliable weapon that could be produced quickly and easily, which is why it is so heavily used by guerilla fighters and small countries that cannot afford better armaments.
The M16 however, is hard to describe, in the fact that, as of now, there are many different versions. It would be easy to tell you if you specified. Is it the M16-A1,2,3, or 4? Because they aren't the same. I'll just do my best to sum them all up.
The M16 was designed to be a better gun, as, during the time of it's creation in the late sixties (68-69) it was made to replace the M14 rifle when we were fighting the Vietnam War. It's actually based on the AR-15 rifle, and I'm pretty sure you aren't talking about the M4, as that is technically a variant of the M16.
Honestly, I'd slightly prefer the M16, as it is an overall more powerful weapon and strong rifle, but it doesn't matter, as the United States Military is trying to phase out the M16 by replacing it with the M4 Carbine.
Besides, this thread is stupid, you should've just put "HEY GUIS ANUDDER COD THREAD WITCH GON IS KEWLER" because 9/10 of the posts on this topic mention Call of Duty or another video game. Case closed!
On top of what Kyle said, the M-16 can be fitted to Beowulf, as stated, grenade launcher, SIMON (breaching weapon) and oodles of other attachments. AK is just more durable and cheaper.
They both have their goods and bads. M16's have a faster rate of fire than AK-47's, and they're more accurate than Ak-47's, but AK-47's are more durable and can sometimes cause more damage. I would probably pick the AK-47.
