those or some of the best games i've played over the years with awsome storylines, but if you're looking for a great storyline RPG's are usualy the better choise
But if you look back at the first game, it's completely self-contained. All the loose ends are tied up and no unanswered questions remain. If it ended right there, nobody would've complained. But then Square decides to through in Boss Fights with "mysterious characters" for the japanese versions to purposely leave open plot points (something they kept doing for KH1, KH2 and Birth By Sleep) so new games can be made to answer those.
but they do take time to actually make good games and good plots, and each game is a full game. its not like theres only 3 hours of gameplay on it. theres usually around 20-30 on the kingdom hearts games
Bleh, I feel so unoriginal when saying this, but I believe Final Fantasy IV had a great storyline. I liked Fallout 3 as well, but the plot wasn't the best.
Red Faction Gurellia has the best story line in my opinion... I also think that the first Imfamous has a really good story line even though it is a very strange one!!!

infamous's story line was suprisingly complex. because theres so many options and roads you can take it can go either which way and that. i enjoyed it. cant wait till the second one comes out
The Tales series as a whole is criminally underrated. Nowadays I like those more then Final Fantasy (both in gameplay and story). Oh and you totally need to mention Tales of Vesperia too

Knight of the Old Republic is one of those games that i've replayed heaps of times since i've got it and it still hasn't gotten old.
All of the Modern Warfare games have crappy storylines, only focusing on action and nothing else, that's not a story. And Black Ops is like Modern Warfare 2 with some conspiracy B.S. and speculation about the Kennedy assassination.
Both Mass Effect games have truly driving storylines that connect you to the characters, and I liked the overall Splinter Cell story, and the ending of the Prologue campaign in Conviction was so saddening...

Just because it doesn't have a good story-line doesn't mean it's not fun. I like playing the single player first. Then after that I'll just play online. That's what those games rely on. Just the online play.
Heavy rain, splinter cell, some star wars games(mostly on the normal xbox)
