Amnesia: The Dark Descend is a graphic adventure survival horror game by Frictional Games, who previously developed the Penumbra series.
Gameplay In a similar vein to the developer's previous games, Amnesia is an exploration-based adventure game played from a first-person perspective. The game retains the physical object interaction used in Penumbra, allowing for advanced physics based puzzles and interactions such as opening doors and fixing machinery.
Story Set in the year 1839, the game casts the player in the role of Daniel, a young man from London, who awakens in the dark halls of the Prussian Brennenburg Castle with little to no memory about himself or his past. All he can remember is his name and that something is hunting him.
Halloween Special by Totalbiscuit is on YouTube, suggest you check it out
Yeah, very scary imo. I remember my first time playing FEAR (when I was 6) and I couldn't move around the corner since I had previously saw a shadow around it. Grr... Hate horror movies, but I must say I ADORE horror games. That is until I feel the need to break myself from it.
I haven't completed the game yet, but after that i'm gonna check it out I don't like to play games when i know what's coming up. So no spoilers for me :P

You know, I only ever done that with one game. Well, two actually.
The first was Armies of Exigo where I left it on my shelf for well over a couple years - about 6. I tried it 6 years ago, and couldn't get used to the bigger units than previously in Age of Empires II, I put it on the shelf. 3 Years later, I felt the urge to play it and didn't get past the first level. Sugar.
I tried it back in 2010, and I spent the next half a week getting to the very end because I was that determined to finish such a brilliant game! Second is StarCraft II - I couldn't find the ending anyways.
If i'm really stuck in some game, then sure, i use some help. But that's not why i made this thread. Let's talk about Amnesia. I've heard that most people think it's scariest game they have ever played. I have to agree :P
Speaking of Amnesia, a friend showed me this hilarious video on YouTube. Some guy plays Amnesia while talking with some friends over Skype, and he's really scared.
Given videos I've seen compared to the game FEAR... I have to agree that it is the scariest game.
Well... Congratulations to the makers of Amnesia!
agreed i'm watching a part now and Daniel was going through a room when something growls horribly and you have to go hide but i'm dieing hoping the guy playing gets in the closet in time. I couldn't play it unless someone was with me the whole time
I've been watching some of my friends livestream this game. Hearing their reactions (and in some cases, seeing)... It's awesome. Even I jumped at one point.

Here it is
Might be some minor spoilers in it, I guess, but nothing really story-related.
OMG thank you for this, laughed my frickin head off.
Kinda reminds me of Clocktower. Don't let its being on the SNES fool you--this game *will* frighten you. Although Amnesia really intrigues me, let's hope this game has multiple endings to this guy's fate?
My imagination would kick me around too much if I played this myself, but I watched through Mangaminx' Let's Play of it on YouTube.
It seems really rather well done for the most part, fairly logical, quite scary although a bit predictable once you realize what's going on. Still scary, though. Definitely couldn't watch while the room I was in was dark, due to my aforementioned imagination being a little too lively. > >
But guys. The endings. Such. A. Bunch. Of. Anti-climax.
"Aight, so... Oh wait, it's over? That's it? What just happened?"-esque.
