Amnesia: The Dark Descend is a graphic adventure survival horror game by Frictional Games, who previously developed the Penumbra series.
Gameplay In a similar vein to the developer's previous games, Amnesia is an exploration-based adventure game played from a first-person perspective. The game retains the physical object interaction used in Penumbra, allowing for advanced physics based puzzles and interactions such as opening doors and fixing machinery.
Story Set in the year 1839, the game casts the player in the role of Daniel, a young man from London, who awakens in the dark halls of the Prussian Brennenburg Castle with little to no memory about himself or his past. All he can remember is his name and that something is hunting him.
Oh i saw in the game when you sanity is low, stuff starts changing, like when you look out windows it's like the screen of a TV with no signal, or like stuff changes, i wanna see that
This game is so epic, and sorry for a crappy gif, just wanted to let you know guys what this game is like (and sorry for grammar mistakes, if there was any)
I downloaded the demo off Steam only to find out it doesn't support my brand new pre-built's integrated graphics.
But my birthday's in a month. I'll get a new graphics card and I'll test it out. I saw TotalBiscut's Halloween special and I was really, REALLY drawn to it.
Has anyone watched the tobuscus (or tobygames) let's play of this? One of the funniest things ever.
Hey Jay: Let's play Amnesia: The Dark Descent
That's halirious if you ask me :>
like when you look out windows it's like the screen of a TV with no signal,
I haven't witnessed that for anyone whom's insane. When you are insane you can hear scratching noises, your vision blooms out and then tucks back in, and etc.
@Highfire: I wouldn't recommend using it to prepare for a first date...
I watched the Let's Play by Flameofgodith on Youtube, and holy crap was it scary to even watch. I have the game on Steam, and even the ambient noises are enough to drive the player mad, not just the character. I could have sworn I heard breathing behind me several times. I often play in a corner so I can be sure nothing sneaks up on me.
