Amnesia: The Dark Descend is a graphic adventure survival horror game by Frictional Games, who previously developed the Penumbra series.

Gameplay
In a similar vein to the developer's previous games, Amnesia is an exploration-based adventure game played from a first-person perspective. The game retains the physical object interaction used in Penumbra, allowing for advanced physics based puzzles and interactions such as opening doors and fixing machinery.

Story
Set in the year 1839, the game casts the player in the role of Daniel, a young man from London, who awakens in the dark halls of the Prussian Brennenburg Castle with little to no memory about himself or his past. All he can remember is his name and that something is hunting him.

Let's talk about this scary **** !

Aww you just ruined it Zophia D: The ending is like the frosting on the cake or the final loops of a shoelace...*SAD*

If your imagination is high, you should definitely play the link I provided above

I said nothing about what the ending(s) actually contain. :P

Just, yeah, anti-climactic. I was disappoint.

And nooooooo, playing games that are remotely scary is not a good idea for me. Srsly, I get this jittery urge to look behind me/in corners/behind doors/under the bed/where-ever there may be shadows amassed all the friggin' time. So silly. Silly imagination.

Your imagination is overactive? Well, then I'm sure you would love this . . . teehee.

. . . anyway, I really like survival horror games. Too bad my laptop is crap and I won't be able to play this game unless they consoleport it >_> oh well . . . . .

But that's what's so great about the games, Zophia! I have the same feelings, but that's what makes the games so good. If it leaves you with an impact, then the game is successful as a horror/fear game. It has to also have a good storyline to build up the suspense.

Most horror games have weapons such as guns to fend off beasties. In Clock Tower? The only thing you can do is run and try to escape. It's a multi-linear fear game that has sequential events that happens. Whatever event happens can affect how future events take place. It's mighty shweet.

But alas I'm supposed to be talking about Amnesia....Well, it's fairly recent, so when I finally get money again, I'll buy it. These sorts of games are always fun to play.

And they're fun to play whilst talkin' with friends, as one of the vidoes have shown

Also it'd be great if you kindly upload your video into YouTube, I think it would be funny

Probably scariest game I've ever played I'm not talking about random stuff coming around a corner and scaring you like once and then irritating you after they use it again an again (deadspace). It's good that they made enough money to get normal wages and survive to make another games since they are the only developers who understand scary games and environments. The only problem with the game is that it's easy to get lost and have no idea what to do. Also not everyone enjoys reading every page in detail that they are throw at.

locoace3, what do you mean it doesn't make sense? I'm not spamming. This gif is about this game and it shows how these ghosts or whatever they call themselves are surprising you

Oddly enough I don't find the idea of a real, tangible stalker nearly as creepy as the non-existent mess my imagination claims is there. :P

I think I've seen that before. I don't think I liked it, so I won't watch it again to check. > >;

Amnesia is somewhat similar to what you just described for Clock Tower. You may very well enjoy it~

"Gatherers", specifically "brutes" and "grunts", as far as I know.
The gif is rather badly made, though, I wouldn't be able to see what was going on in it if I didn't know. :<

There's very few pages that actually contain hints for the puzzles, so if you don't care about the (well written though not particularly "new&quot story, you can just skip 'em. :P

grunts are scary since they have no bottom jaw and the skin kinda flops

i remember a part where the player was going down a hall, then something roared and started chasing him, he went into a room closed the door and threw a table in front of it, but Gatherer managed to open the door as the guy ran like hell

if it were i in the situation, i'd just jump out the window in the beginning

Bruts are scary because they look like this, asdfjghkl.

SPOIL INCOMING!!

It's worse on the outside. There's red shadow-goop everywhere, essentially hunting you.

SPOIL UP.

They need to make a sequel

One that *SPOILERS* involved the good ending where you had died, thus involving a new character who is in the same time as Daniel but in a different location where you actually see the effects of what Daniel did somehow.

Oh, and instead it's in a Fort - so it can involve a nice courtyard

Or another large structure, however mutliple structures I don't think would help much due to the large wild open spaces :/
