Again, I'm not completely sure. But I imagine that ocelots would still spawn in hard mode. But they are still pretty hard to find. I can only usually find one over a time of about 3 (Minecraft) days. And my main house is in the jungle.
Does it work in all directions or just the one the cat is facing?
I'm 99% sure that it's all directions.
Anyways, It really ticks me off that there are no half-blocks and stairs in these new wood colors. I mean how hard would it have been for them?
Yup. Or instead of adding new stairs and slabs, they could have not added the new planks at all.
Also, I'm thinking about posting a thread on how to build good looking, realistic ships. Comment on my profile if you think I should! =)
I think you should do as Kasic said, post your 'how-to's" in this thread, then make a link to them on your profile.
Yes, 1.2.4. This wasn't intended to be a major update, if it was, the game would have been updated to 1.3.0. They've always updated like this, small updates with tiny features and bug fixes, and big updates with new gameplay.
It was funny because I recently found a bug. I put a bucket of lava in my furnace as fuel, and then after it cooked a few things, I saved and exited the game. Then when I came back, the amount of fire (you know, that fire that tells you how much fuel is left) was full and not going down. So I thought I had made a glitched infinite furnace fuel. But soon, the fire instantly went to zero. So I was sad. Well... I'm not sure if that glitch is actually replicable, but it'd be a nice bug fix in future versions.
I figured out something fun. Self launching tnt cannons stop working a while ago (they changed tnt physics), but I figured out a new way to cover large distances. Just set off some tnt, run back, and right before they explode, throw an ender pearl right above it. The pearl will go flying and will teleport you a few hundred blocks away.
they should make the villagers look more like humans and not squidward -_-
The villagers are supposed to look like primitive tribal people, they shouldn't necessarily look like modern people.

Awww. That's lame.

some people in my class say it's a lame game ( not like they ever played it...), but there's one guy in my class who's addicted to it. Is there an actual "mission" to the game? Like, something to work for?

It would make soooo much sense if they were pigmen, because then the zombie pigmen could be the bad pigmen banished in the Nether by the Iron Golem.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to build you could make your goal building a giant castle with fifteen billion rooms, trapdoors, and dungeons. If you like killing things, then you could go kill the dreaded Enderdragon. With a fifty foot wingspan, the ability to replenish its health from nearby Endercrystals, and being able to throw you up into the air and laugh (lol not really) as your body breaks on the endstone turf. On another note, if you like friends (don't know why you wouldn't), you could go on multiplayer you could make it your "mission" to team up with friends and survive as long as you can on a hardmode server. I've never tried it, but it sounds fun. So, there's not really one goal, you can make up your own. But yeah the Enderdragon is the main mission, but I almost never consider him because he's like impossible to kill even on creative mode (infinite of every item and tool).

You can try to activate the end portal to go the enderdragon. But it's quite boring and not worth the effort. It'd be worth the effort if the enderdragon gave you something like 500 diamonds after you beat it. But otherwise it's just a waste of time and resources.
The goal I'm working towards is an epic tree house among the trees in a jungle. I have like 7-8 houses in the trees and they're all connected. The whole complex is about 40 blocks above sea level too. It's not quite finished. I still need to add the roofs and interior decoration, but that's about it. I finished the floor plan and the walls.
So that's the fun part about Minecraft. The limits of Minecraft are the limits of your imagination.

You get 20,000 exp points! You'll gain like 100 levels! Think of all of the enchantments you can put on stuff!
Small posts are looked down upon. Try blather out a few more sentences next time. - So I'm curious... What are everyone's thoughts on brewing? I am personally not a big brewer. I'm not sure why. It doesn't really seem necessary. It's not that it's useless (as the new planks are) but I've never really seen a need for potion brewing. I just say "Bah" and dismiss it with a wave of my hand... So what do you think? Are you a brewer? Why or Why not?

Haven't tried it yet. I need to go to the nether to get blaze rods and what not to even make a stand, but the nether and I have a long history of...disagreement.
1st portal try: I go into the nether but my portal appeared right next to a lava flow so I walk out and die in lava.
2nd portal try: I go into the nether and there's about 6-7 pigmen right there which kill me while the game is still loading.
3rd portal try: I go into the nether and no portal back out was made.
So yeah. I tend to avoid the nether because getting into it screws me over 95% of the time. Once I'm in it and not spawn killed or have no way back out I'm fine, I can fight and what not.
Well I'm just recounting times when I tried to go into the nether.
Although the most recent one was the portal with no return portal inside the nether (1.2.4). I had spawned and only 1/6 of the portal frame was there (1 block of the purple-y stuff that you tele in) and it disappeared in a few seconds and then I was stuck.
From what I heard the Blaze Rods can only be found in Nether Fortresses or something like that.
I mostly like to explore and build, so I spend most of my time mining , chopping down trees, and hunting for mobs (food/wool) so I don't really need to go to the nether ever except for a few things.

That's odd... How did you eventually get out? Did you hack the game or just make a new world?

Yup. It's true. I found 10 (blaze rods) today. And I nearly couldn't find my portal. I was looking for about 20 mins in search of a Nether Fortress and when I found one, I had to look all over it to find the Blaze spawner. Then I had to fight like 20 blazes just to get 10 rods. Then I went and tried to find my way back to my portal for about and hour (I got really lost and confused). But I made it back.
