I don't see how it'll take that long to get all the updates after a while. I mean, I don't even remember updating to 1.9 beta. And i play like every day (except then it was like 3 days, but still! 3 DAYS?!??!)
Dig down to layer 15 then dig a tunnel 1x2 and dig out 5 blocks each side every 3 blocks its the fastest safe way
Tunnel mining like that isn't very fast. It's a lot faster to just find caves and explore downwards, than once you're at >17 keep a sharp eye out for diamonds.
Every game has pixels. Minecraft just uses less pixels per square inch so that your computer can actually handle it.

The fact Minecraft has completely ridiculous hardware requirements, compared to what it actually looks like, is not a good thing. Nor does it have anything to do with the randomly generated landscape.
It has to do with the game not being coded all that well.

what layer am i most likely to find diamonds, my brother tried going 15ish blocks down and did your thing by digging five on either side every 3 blocks, he tried that for a couple of minutes and decided you have no idea what you're talking about and he also says(not to the people of armor games) that for all i know you could be 5 years old and started playing a couple of days ago and he also doesn't trust anyone on armor games about anything . so i really want to prove him wrong about armor games and the people who play on it because he's him and i would love to see him be wrong about this
