Now I've been seeing a lot of negativity about the greatest country on earth, home of doughboys and applepies and moms and the City that Never Sleeps, and why is that? C'mon, can't the haters stop hating, and we all just love the USA? Lets just look at who could be around today, controlling the world, if it wasn't for America.
Monarchs
The Kaiser
Santa Anna
Der Fuhrer
Emperor Hirohito
Mikhail Gorbachev
Saddam Hussein
if it wasn't for america, you might be looking like one of those guys!
America is okay its just a bit boring to be in. You need to drive for days to get inbetween major citys and the culture is around about the same though the whole place. Europe is nice as if you live Belgium there are around 5 different country's you can get to in a few hours and there are major citys all over the place. The culture also changes rapidly from area to area.
if living in america was fun like japan then i would be hating on my own country japan has all the cool weird stuff and all the anime and blah america just dont got nothing original
What do you mean by that? The first person to think up and create a light-bulb like apparatus was not American.
America is a shining beacon standing for freedom, democracy, and justice. Mess with us, and we're gonna knock you on your ***. Jus' sayin'.
Yeah sure, what about when you mess with yourself? Like you have been successfully doing for a while. Does anyone have any valid points other than spoon fed ideologies?
America is a shining beacon standing for freedom, democracy, and justice.
About the democracy:
There are plenty of democratic countries around the world, and America is nothing special, in fact, according to this list, you're only 17th when it comes to democracy.
About the freedom:
Yeah, sure. Lots of freedom. Assuming you're white and heterosexual. If you were middle eastern and/or gay, however, I don't think you'd say the same.
About the justice:
I definitely agree. Justice is being able to sue someone because the coffee they serve is too hot and being able to get away with anything if you have the money to pay for good lawyers.
Mess with us, and we're gonna knock you on your ***.
That attitude is the same reason why America is so disliked on other continents.
Oh ya, first person on the moon, in fact, only country on the moon.
Sure, USA were the first on the moon, but the first country in space was Russia. Surely that's a bigger feat. It's sort of like when you were a kid, and you raced to a lamp post, and if your friend won, you just yelled "The race is to the next lamp post!", and ran past him before he realized what was going on. I'm not the only one who did that, am I?
Either way, a lot of countries have great inventors, in fact, most of them do, and most of those countries have important tools and other things that were invented there. However, the accomplishments of one or more scientists or inventors who happened to live in said country doesn't necessarily mean the country made something right. And even if they did, showing off what stuff a country has invented doesn't really say much about how "great" it is in other aspects.
Um if getting to the moon is less important than reaching space then why hasn't anyone else done it? But this country bragging reminds me of certain people comparing AP and saying "MINE IS BIGGER THAN YOURS!".
Um if getting to the moon is less important than reaching space then why hasn't anyone else done it?
So your question is "If it's unimportant, why isn't anyone else doing it"? Because the answer is sort of in the question.
And I'm not here to say my country is better than yours. I'm here to tell you yours is worse than mine. It's more fun that way. Just kidding though, but the OP's arrogance and "My country is awesome in every way because I say so, so start loving it already"-attitude sort of pisses me off. If he had just said something which was good about his country, that'd be fine, but what he said was basically just "We're awesome, love us!".
So your question is "If it's unimportant, why isn't anyone else doing it"? Because the answer is sort of in the question
But isn't that assuming reaching the moon is unimportant? Id say its an important step for us to make consistent trips to the moon to further our knowledge of space travel. I do agree though the OP is full of arrogance.
Sorry, iMogwai. If we weren't high on laughter, our heads would be straight instead of slightly off.
I agree that this country is actually not really that great... Currently. It used to be the light at the end of the tunnel for a lot of people, but the system is currently corrupt.
