Now I've been seeing a lot of negativity about the greatest country on earth, home of doughboys and applepies and moms and the City that Never Sleeps, and why is that? C'mon, can't the haters stop hating, and we all just love the USA? Lets just look at who could be around today, controlling the world, if it wasn't for America.
Monarchs
The Kaiser
Santa Anna
Der Fuhrer
Emperor Hirohito
Mikhail Gorbachev
Saddam Hussein
if it wasn't for america, you might be looking like one of those guys!
America is not all bad, no country is. But I have a song to share too: El Imperio Caera (Translation from their homepage, I'm not sure if it's 100% correct but it's better than google translation^^)
do you know that america was one of the minor freers of europe after WW2? russia and england were more important.
also, gorbatsjov wasn't a dictator. actually, he brought some democracy to the USSR.
and remember nixon...
well, I assume that the USA did some important things, but can't we turn things around? the USA wouldn't be so great if europeans wouldn't have started to move there for instance...
I'm not a hater. I don't hate the US. I like the movies, donald duck, the hang to freedom of the american people. but I hate patriotism, guns, war and thinking that someone is better than someone else. so actually, I should hate myself writing this. anyway.
I really like to have a queen. (Beatrix.) she has a special day, when everything turns orange (if you are thinking about holand: visit it at queensday.) and you always have something to talk about (her son. his wife qualified him as 'een beetje dom' (a little dumb) but I think that he's smarter than he looks.)
yep, the guns. that's a huge point. I'm not going to move to a country where everyone carry a gun in the bag when they go shopping.
I think a country carrying big guns rather than trying to go without any is more successful. Pres. Reagan? The Cold War? Not a drop of blood. Those were the days. Now we're trying to make peace with countries looking for Israel's blood. Bad idea? I think so. Can we have pres. Reagan back?

I think a country carrying big guns rather than trying to go without any is more successful. [/quote] Everyone having a gun leads to situations where someone says to another "Why are you staring at me like that?" and shoots the other. Or if a car gets past you, you stop and shoot on the car. Things like that. Yes, those were things I heard, not imagined. You may be more successful as a whole, I don't know, but it's surely a lot less safe.

you might want to take a look at the european states outside the NATO, like swizerland, but also new zealand, there are many. they haven't any war now, either cold or hot.
I would like to point out that the Us does not have as many beavers as ______, does not have as much maple syrup as ______, is not as big as ______, and is generally not as cool as ______. But yeah, the US isn't all that bad. I don't hate it, but it's definitely not the best country. I really don't know what the best country is, as everyone has their own opinions, but people who go around saying "your country sucks, ours is better" are what I like to call this.
America's highpoints with involvement in other countries was The War of 1812, Midway, and Operation Overlord. Other than that, TUSoA has been predominantly neutral in major wars, not taking a side unless one country decided to attack us. No one speaks of Monte Cassino or how Poland's 750 men and women fended off 50,000 Wehrmacht soldiers. Hitler *would* have been victorious in Europe if he wasn't busy choking on Poland's heavily-endowed balls of steel.
So in other-words, TUSoA has been involved with the figures in the OP, but not nearly as much as other nations have, nor have they been as involved in allied wars as others. Sure, America is a superpower, but we don't use it unless some pesky bees sting us. We aid other nations, sure, but not directly.
Well, you can't really say that Iraq and Afghanistan attacked USA... It was just It was mainly a pretext in my opinion. Also, remember of the other 9/11, when USA supported Pinochet's coup d'etat destroying a democratic government, just because it was socialist.
