I see... I'm just a naive American kid. And no, I'm not fat. I weight 110 (That pounds).

I don't associate Americans with fatness... Sometimes yes, but only when I think about fast food, etc...

I wish we learned that in my school. We sorta had these things in my old school. We had two semesters of christian teachings class (I didn't attend my parents are very religious so they didn't want me to go) and two semesters of ethics were we learn about morals, norms and things like that.

In Germany you have religion class during your whole school time. In ethics we als learn much about norms and human rights, but we often talk much about religion, interhuman relations, politics and often with a connection to morals, etc.

May I remind you I'm a Catholic and wish to have religion taught in school.

Don't you guys have religion as a choice course?

So many religions... and every single one thinks they're 100% right. I think anyone who believes in a religion must at least believe it's possible not everything that is taught to them is correct...

Your describing me.

Agnostic is only about ones knowledge not ones belief.

Since belief in a deity is faith based one can claim no knowledge of a deity yet still believe one exists.

Only if you go to a Catholic school, which is extremely expensive.

And that is how it should be. If the public funds it, it can't have anything to do with religion. If religion is thought, then it should only be in history class, from a non biased source, giving a brief overview and stating how it effected history. Nothing more.

Oh, I'm in a public school and we have religion class, but it's (usually) un-biased.

I only said that because i read it in his book.

Well people should learn about religions somewhere or people will just assume wrong facts about religions based on the small facts they do know.

So could you give me an example when someone assumed a wrong fact about religion on a large enough scale to be a problem?

No but It's not really nice for people of a religion when everyone who didn't learn about them, thinks about them in the wrong way. Besides, I'm sure most people on the religion threads wouldn't be here if all they knew were how did religion affect history.

So you are stating a hypothetical question about something that hasn't been a problem, and is not likely to be?

I thought this was about the general public? We are discussing religion in schools, not on forums, unless I missed something...

No I am stating this because I feel this is the case with my religion.

What religion (specifically) and what do you feel has been confused?

We are still talking about public education, not this forum's population. So where are the examples of people being confused and take religions the wrong way?

What religion (specifically)

I'm not saying. I guess i will say if someone leaves a comment on my wall saying what religion they think i am and gives me a good reason for thinking thats my religion (though I will only respond to it if its correct and i deem the reason good enough).

what do you feel has been confused?

I feel a lot has been confused due to unextensive knowledge about sects, and how some people in certain sects act in completely different ways that other sects do (I don't think they could be more off in how they act). I feel that because there is more people of the sect my sect disapproves of living in my area, most people who see us think were all like that other sect.

I'm not trying to apply this to politics or jobs or anything like that, I fell personally that people view me the wrong way.

So you not only wish to teach the hundreds of religions, but thousands of sects? There are possibly millions of sects, teaching them all in public would be a waste of money.

Lemme guess... You once stated that you believe in the OT, correct? And by the sound of it, you are some obscure Christian sect. So, assuming that you are not Catholic or Protestant, Jewish or Islamic, then you are pretty much one of the more obscure ones, which pretty much leaves Mormon. So I assume that you are Mormon.

Well any way, I would have to assume that what they view of you is justified, but since you lack the want to give me examples, I can't debunk a dull argument. It has no point, no proof.
