Also, what was the point of Hiroshima and the other Japan bombing? The USA had already basically won.


nope we had plans to invade japam but japan was gonna literally fight to the last man/woman/child in Gyokusai attacks where they had children with bombs in backpacks throw themselves under tanks, people in dive suits poke holes in landing craft and people fight with bamboo spears

and during the suggested time of the invasion there were the were Kamikaze winds ever which left numerous ships sunk and beyond repair which would have further complicated the war had we invaded

Japan was won with only air power, which proved jimmy Mitchell's theory and made the Air force separate from the navy

He was a Naval aviator, Marine aviator, flew 59 combat bombing missions against Japan, flew 90 missions in Korea in 7 months, frequently had his plane full of holes, once had over 200 holes from one mission, he flew the US's first orbital mission, served in the Senate, wrote most of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978, and at 68 he was the oldest person to go into space.
