If you have enough time to post a forum post in less than thirty seconds, then the post obviously isn't too long and if you go from one thread straight to another thread just copy what you've wrote; refresh and then post your comment.

i like the 30 second rule, and definitely think it should stay, but one thing that's really annoying about it is after the 30 seconds are up, you have to refresh the page. sometimes i want to comment on two different threads, or have changed my opinion on a game, but i have to refresh the page, and it's bad if the game doesn't save progress. or i write down my comment, and then realize that the submit button isn't there. i know i can just copy and paste, but it's still annoying.

don't get rid of the rule if you do all hell will break loose

The caps lock rule wasn't in place beforehand (there was a caps lock rule recently placed!?), so I'm pretty sure hell wasn't loose back in '09. Though that would make sense, since etiquette and posting strength was horrible compared to now. If you want Hell, go to Gamespot or Newgrounds.

This current site can't handle an activity icon, let alone a constant stream timer to update once the 30 seconds are up. That WOULD be the Hell I was thinking of up top--the site lagging for an ungodly amount of time.

Alt+Tab works wonders. You can be playing your game.....AND be posting in a thread at the same time! And if you want to post a comment in said game, just make a replica of the link and you could post 'n play.

LOL, this guy, this guy....See how long you survive after doing *that* for a long time!

Just read over my post, phrased it wrong.. xD

If you have enough time to post a forum post in less than thirty seconds, then the post obviously isn't too long and if you go from one thread straight to another thread and it says 'Thank you for your comment! Please wait 30 seconds before posting another!' write your post for that thread then, just copy what you've wrote; refresh and then post your comment or refresh until it's gone before writing on that thread again.

/EPICFAIL.

the 30 second rule is to reduce spam, repeat posts, and constant flaming.
if we were to remove the 30 second rule, the forums would be flooded with spam.
plus, caps lock works, but is frowned upon and generally considered spam.

If the forums are flooded with spam, all the impulse from the spam goes straight to the AG servers. If the AG servers recieve too much impulse from like about 5,000,000 posts in the AG forums, they could crash. If the servers crash due to too much impulse, the forum data could be messed up. If the forum data gets messed up, the forum posts that you have counted on your profile could be gone. If your post count goes down, you lose AP.
This is a complex explanation of why there is a 30 second rule in the first place.

That is an example of circular writing. Here's a simplification:

The 30 second rule was created to protect AP by limiting spam.

AG's crackdown on spam is perfectly legit.

Seriousness for the win.

They're not *that* strict about spam obviously if you write 'good' on a game the comment is gonna get deleted.

were just having fun

If you find spam fun..
You're just making a mess and leaving an administrator or moderator to clean it up after you, therefore your 'fun' in the end has had no purpose only making you annoyed because you lost AP and having a mod/admin to deal with it.
