People often complain about how their prayers always go unanswered, and I was just wondering what the AG community thought about this topic. I was also interested in where your opinions where on asking God for something.

That's a bunch of crap. I'd say I'm unimpressed with your imagination, because if I'm faced with an omnipotent being who I either love, or I am thrown into eternal torment, I know what my choice is. If hell is real, 314d1, then you cannot comprehend its pain, its torture. And faced with that when you have the option of repentance and salvation, not only would you not have the guts to turn away, you wouldn't want to. No one would.
I would disagree. I was always a strong starter. If you where correct, I would only complain after I was being tortured. Really it would be as easy as saying "No". I wouldn't want to worship this god, especially not forever.

You do realize the threat of hell is nothing more then an idol threat when one doesn't believe it exists. It's far more effective on those who think this crap is real. So it seems to be more a way of controlling through fear those who are already buying into the religion. And fear can be a great way to control people.

A cigarette or a prostitute or hell, correct? I would be more capable, but still would reject the idea. The pain of my Conscience would be worse then hell could. Once again it would be more like the killer pointing the gun to your head and saying "Help me go on a killing spree, or I will kill you". Not only to watch your friends, families, and other peoples friends and families be killed and tortured, but to actively help in the killings.
If God is omniscient then any prayer is completely pointless. He would already know what we need when we needed and if we even desire his assistance even before we would.
