People often complain about how their prayers always go unanswered, and I was just wondering what the AG community thought about this topic. I was also interested in where your opinions where on asking God for something.

But there is still as good as a chance that they WOULD convert when faced by God

If it's all good to believe in him once we see him then there is no point in putting any stock in faith.

While I'm at it, what the hell does young and green even mean? I am most certainly NOT green in any facet.

It improves your life to believe in something with anything beyond your personal feelings backing it up?

Hah; there is much more than that backing it up. I prefer to call them logic and fact, although they go by other names as well.

Somehow, I don't think this thread has long to live.

Anyways, I think the only reason people think prayer does anything is because it's more memorable when it's answered, not when it fails. The same goes for all things, do you remember how many times you've lost the slots? No, but I can bet you can remember when you've won.

Prayer has a 0.01% chance of helping which is the same as not praying at all.the great prayer experiment showed that knowing you are being prayed for is actually bad for you. And if God knows everything why pray to him. Since he knows what you need why doesn't he give it to you if you don't pray since he already knows about it?

There aren't any facts backing up the existence of God and thus is not logical.

How do you explain the miracles that happen? A nun prayed and was cured from parkinson.

You got proof of that? Not just some word-of-mouth stuff, I want proof,
