Ive heard game playing can be related to atheism, because it contains such violence and unrealistic situations that it can make a person stray from gods path. I am a devout christian, and i wanted to know if that is a popular belief, or simply a rumor that has spread around.

Nothing cannot create something.

It seems that in quantum physics, nothing can, indeed, create something. And your also saying that a intelligent complex being is more likely to have existed then a little tiny mass of energy?

Oh, almost forgot. Try using quotes, it makes the debate more neat

Yea, I don't judge you either, but in a debate, it's usually better to put arguments so something is actually being discussed.

Regardless, this thread was about whether violence in video games caused Atheism, not the existence of God. There are already way too many threads on that subject anyway.

So, so far it seems like there's nothing that supports the statement, and the majority of those who have answered have disagreed with it.

Unless someone comes along and agrees with the statement, or someone gives us an argument that would support that statement, I'd pretty much say that the discussion is pretty much over and the answer is no, violence does not lead to atheism.

Explain Satanic Atheism. Sounds like something religion conjured to attack Atheists with. Satanism is a religion, no?

Satanism is the worshiping of the devil. Atheism is beleiving in the absense of any god. It impossible to pair the two together, so that was just an ignorant comment.

Let's get this back on topic or it's going to be closed and you'll have to move your discussion to one of the other religious threads.

Perfect example why there is the word "moron" in "oxymoron".

Ok, Is Atheism Related to Gameplaying? Because from the opinions of the people who have commented, it seems like you all say no. But again, with no judgement on the part of the people commenting, most of you are Atheist, so would that mean your opinions are biased?

So are there any studies linking video gaming and atheism? If not then I say moot. Even with some evidence I would still be doubtful. I am athiest and play a lot of video games, but I was never really religious.

So atheists arguing against gaming being related to Atheism? And a Christian arguing for gaming being related to Atheism? Biased? Why would an Atheist care? Its not a bad thing even if it were true.

There have been at least one Christian who posted (page two, top of the page) and agreed, so I don't think we're being biased. I just don't think the statement makes sense, nor do you provide anything that would support it.

So could that mean that most people who began playing games were already atheistic instead of most Atheistic people becoming so after becoming avid gamers?
