Ive heard game playing can be related to atheism, because it contains such violence and unrealistic situations that it can make a person stray from gods path. I am a devout christian, and i wanted to know if that is a popular belief, or simply a rumor that has spread around.
So could that mean that most people who began playing games were already atheistic instead of most Atheistic people becoming so after becoming avid gamers?
My personal belief is that most people who are gamers also spend a lot of time on the internet, and the internet is a place where you can find answers to just about any question in a matter of seconds. So, once again, I think knowledge makes people not need religion to answer their questions.
Anyone with a working brain knows that an internet site can be biased, that's why you should make sure you always have more than one source, of one very reliable source, depending on what you are looking for.
I have to agree while playing video games didn't contribute to becoming an atheist learning about and gaining a better understand of what we have discovered through science did.
but others simply cannot as of yet.
That doesn't mean we should automatically insert God into those gaps inn our knowledge.
I beleive in God, only because there is no proof he doesnt exist,
Then why not believe in fairies, mermaid, dragons and every other thing we have no proof exists?
you have to consider the fact that every thing in the universe had some beginning.
Then we must logically ask where God came from? If we can answer that he always existed there is no reason we can't simply apply that to the singularity that spawned the universe and save a step.
If the first microscopic atom was created 100000000000000000000000 years ago, what created it?
The cooling energy from the Big Bang.
if there is no fact that the big bang caused the creation of earth, and no fact that god created it, then one person cant say the other is wrong just because there is no factual evidence to back it up.
No the Earth was not created by the Big Bang, it formed billions of years later as the result of gravitation interactions after the supernova of older stars produced more complex elements.
unless its SATANIC atheism. sometimes people in a crap situation ask the devil to get them out of it.
It's likely he has about the same 50/50 odds of granting requests.

true dat, internet searching for answers is a tricky business sometime lol
Well not really. To be honest, if video games had the magical power to turn believers into atheists then I would be happy. So I'm kind of arguing against my own desires, so no, I'm not biased, I'm more using logic. I mean if video games would really turn believers into atheists, then I'm pretty sure there would have been studies and stats that would back up your idea. But until now, I haven't seen one.

The Left Behind Book series stunk. It was poorly written , and though it was written as a Christian book series, it had no redeeming qualities. So i didnt even know there were games pertaining to that series

I didn't think it was "That" bad, although it's definitely something for younger readers, it's quite straight forward, obvious what is going to happen, and has a lot of repeated actions. Each book follows the same plot line. I didn't know there were games for it either, what do you do, just run around all day?
