It seems to me that, during my short time here on the forums, the majority of the AG Community is Atheist. Is this just me, or is there truth to my thoughts?
Who cares about the opinions of 3 random people? Make up your own mind.
what i was getting at was you all reference Mage and/or are like "i wonder what he has to say" all the time... "yay for the brain in a jar Moegreche" ....so I saved you the time. You put them on a pedestal one second absorbing everything they have to say like a sponge and are then like... it doesn't matter what those people have to say... they're just people... forgive me if I got caught up somewhere in that
I presented what I thought best suited the mentality of the collective individuals here. (excluding those being cited of course)
And another question I have is this.... How is it that you didn't know which side I was on? Its not the first time we've seen each other on the WEPR
I apologize for my abrupt and abrasive behavior. All of that wasn't for just you. The general vibe I get from most of them is that we're all stupid by definition.
Understandable, plus that was tame by comparison to other people xD
Along with books on neoPagan books, the Qur'an, the Bhagavad Gita, the Book of Mormon. So why don't you believe them as well?
I think he said earlier "because Christian seemed more right to me" or more truthful. Not sure, but ermm.. The basic argument to that statement which is often what a religious person opens up with is "Logical understanding of the universe doesn't sound more true, then?"
Of course not in those exact words.
I can give him props for that, though he loses any respect with his refusal to accept the possibility that he might be wrong then hypocritically accusing others of doing this.
Last I checked he was, but then again, I haven't been on that thread for a lot of pages since it dabbled in so and so which I'm not even sure I had the sufficient knowledge to talk about. lol
You get the idea of who he's talking about. And it's better then being call "that ***hole".
It was a joke XD
Yep I've been wrong lots of times. It's learning and attempting to correct the mistake that makes the difference. In fact I sometimes prefer being wrong, I can get more out of it.
Sometimes, I don't think I've been in a situation like that but correcting mistakes that I have made is usually not well taken by the opposing side in a debate. Probably they think you're acting it, :<
I agree, think for yourselves.
Didn't I reply to the quote you replied to with a reason ?
And another question I have is this.... How is it that you didn't know which side I was on? Its not the first time we've seen each other on the WEPR
... Really? Lol sorry dude I have no recollection of meeting you, now I feel like an idiot :/
But hey, I'm pretty dang sure you're on the theist side

I apologize for the double quote. I hit enter to go down and it submitted. Anyway, I am the one who said who cares and I have never put these people on a pedestal or wondered what they have to say...I'm new so I don't even know them.
well one is a philosophy phd. and if you stay here then you'll find that everytime you see one of them post somewhere regardless of the forum that you'll end up clicking it and seeing what they have to say.
1) You haven't proven he does, therefore we require no disproving. 2) Why do you continue preaching if you're so sure it's the truth?
1) Ah but atheists sit here all day trying to disprove him. Why, I ask?
2) Because, we wish, in our terrible arrogance and evil, to save our brethren from eternal ****ation. What do atheists think happen to theists who contradict their beliefs? I dunno, I suppose that automatically makes them bigots and morons and all that. I've seen it all. Atheists aren't very creative.
It seems to me that, during my short time here on the forums, the majority of the AG Community is Atheist. Is this just me, or is there truth to my thoughts?
It's because if one theist posts on one of these religious threads then they are going to be attacked by ten atheists. And the argument about it gets old very quickly. There are about... eight religion vs whatever/Christianity FTW/Atheism FTW threads on the first two-three pages of the sub-forum.
So most people that do visit the WEPR section are atheists. While the theists don't comment in the religious threads much because of the onslaught of atheists that await them.
in some of the theist's defense... some of the atheists have openly admitted to trolling and saying things just to get people mad. I would think that some of the people recognize some of that and just quit dropping by... even tho some may very well start to question their faiths as was said earlier...
it sometimes devolves from mature conversation to obvious trolling which is passed off as a question or statement that they get mad over when the people they were trolling get mad at it.
I'd say there is an Atheism majority, but not like 90%. Lots of religious people here, but the arguments fade and -- just how it's easy to defend mathematics as it follows with everybody's cognitive understanding of logic, atheists find it fun and exhilarating to assume the same applies for all humans in terms of religion. As if battering of an unprovable point of science/logic is going to change anyone's mind without any clear debate. I don't think it's their fault, it's just a faulty topic. I sort of agree with Kirby on the idea.
Also, this is the internet, I think it's safe to assume that many of us are younger than the average american, and are more in tune with science/modernism than the average american. It's not like your average pastor plays armorgames, so the demographics are a little in their favor
Not to take sides but it SEEMS to me its a lot of the atheists on this forum that have such a hard time viewing a subject from the other person's perspective. Its as if they don't even try.
Most of us where at one point actually in the mother's shoes. We have been there, done that, and I personally find no reason to regress back to it.
Logic or science in general can be as blinding as religion can.
Logic and science is reality, and you can't get blinded by the truth. If things do not fit in reality, it is not worth pretending that they do.
well one is a philosophy phd. and if you stay here then you'll find that everytime you see one of them post somewhere regardless of the forum that you'll end up clicking it and seeing what they have to say.
A phd is an accomplishment. I am not saying it is not, but I still am going to form my own opinion. And as for the second part, no. I won't.
Not to take sides but it SEEMS to me its a lot of the atheists on this forum that have such a hard time viewing a subject from the other person's perspective. Its as if they don't even try. Logic or science in general can be as blinding as religion can. WHY cant you not see something from another person's point of view when they've clarified it many times again and again.
I think what makes it difficult is the lack of scientific evidence. So yes, I guess that would be saying that science is blinding. Oh and I think it is funny the you are saying "logic...can be as blinding as religion." Are you saying that religion is illogical?
