This should shut up Trump. And basically every other republican....
This has to be the best thing ever:
John McCain was born in a Naval Air Station along the Panama Canal, a U.S. territory, not a state of the Union. He would have to become naturalized once he emigrated to the U.S. and would not have been eligible for presidency.
That is from a different, more unreliable site, but I still think it is hilarious, if true.
Eh, clarification is never a bad thing. Us Americans tend to get our economic system throughly confused.
As I noted on your profile I don't mean to harass you or insult your intelligence I just don't know what you believe/know and what you don't because you/re new.
My apologies, all the same you have to admit that generally conservatives tend to be middle and upper class while liberals are usually lower or middle class.
What America often refers to as "communism" is often totalitarian or fascist. For the record, the Soviet Union was never communist, regardless of what claims they made.
Here's an idea - we need to come up with a definitive definition of: Capitalism - (a free-market based system in which, in the most pure form, there is no government regulation on business. It is also associated with lower taxes, as a result of limited government spending. The most extreme form is anarchist capitalism, in which government's only function is to provide military and police services [and provide them only if people agree to it]) Socialism - OK guys, now you define these terms... Communism
(Any other economic political terms below)
So that we can be all on the same page when it comes to debating it.
I believe the scholarships should be awarded on a case by case basis; except in the case of community colleges, for the sake of debate we'll say any sub $10,000 college
.
Now that I can support. However giving free rides to the athletic leaves academics like myself in desperate need. And it doesn't help I don;t qualify for financial aid either...awesome system North America has.
Liberals have on average a 6% higher income than conservatives
Registered liberals *chimes the sociology student*
Capitalism
Is any system in which the economy is based primarily on the acquisition of medium through labor with which capital can be received.
Capitalism is an economic type not an economic system, you're referring to the free market. Then again as you said policies are as you define them.
As far as this debate is concerned Communism is total public ownership of all business and Socialism is the middle ground between the two economic systems.

Unfortunately athletes drive up profits for universities in a very direct way, it's really up to colleges how they give scholarships. It's up to the governments to pick up some slack, again, depending on the case.

This is why we need to focus on EDUCATION not entertainment.
Sorry thanks for the correction - I'm a little careless with wording (got corrected with the usage of "belief" earlier :P).
It's alright, from what I've seen not many people tend to know that (I've just been recently looking it up). It nice though because when people rant about capitalism I can quietly point out socialism and communism can both be forms of capitalism; it's good for a laugh ;]

Are the academic scholarships in Canada that bad? I could get into almost any community college for free on academic scholarships. Public schools in Ohio too.
Haha I agree very strongly with your theory. The thing is if you cut the budgets on those sports, then people will pay less. This leads to the school making less so it would kind of end up being a wash most likely and all that would have been accomplished is that the school now has a worse sports program.

Basically, heck if the sports program was improved some of the profits could be funneled to raise academic scholorshups.
God ****it that posted without me god ****ing something >.>
I'm 17 and wolf is 19 we shouldn't be competing with other kids for scholarships to determine the rest of our lives. High-school is stressful enough without having to worry about grades and work to pay for college.
Even though I don't respect Obama, this is a democracy! We should be able to elect anyone we want, as long as they get the highest number of votes, obviously. Born here or not I support anyone willing to give to a country if the people like him (or even her).
