Inspired by Krizaz

Today I was inspired by someone that we need change. I was the one arguing for it. In this world there are rebels everywhere, people are starting a world-wide revolution. Egypt, Libya, Iraq, I could go on all day. Maybe people are just stupid, scared, or too naive to do anything major other than just kill the ones who are opposed to them. Well, just what do we want? What do we want? Do really need or even want change? Is it a good idea? If it is, what would be the best change? Dictatorship? World-wide independence? Universal unity? I personally believe that a dictatorship with a strong checks and balances system would be the best. What are your thoughts? God, people are idiots anymore. I mean, some of those laws that are in place today have been around before the technological revolution! They mean nothing today. Best choice for weapons? Protest, violence, assassination? Are there more?
To sum it up, these are areas of discussion:
-Do we need it?
-Do we want it?
-Ideal government?
-Unity or not?
-Way to change ideas?
-There are more, we can just start with these.

I like how the thread went from dictatorship, to race, then to current events in america.

I think it'd be a good idea to go through and eliminate many of the current things because, honestly, some of this stuff isn't working. Like Obama's "****, outta money, wait, I know, let's use the tax payers'!"

I'd rather Obama raised taxes that cut funds to important things like Social Security, Education, Unemployment. We raise taxes so we can have the nice things in life. Look at Wisconsin and how their Governor was greeted after he tried slashing education and lying.

Yeah, I've been thinking that for a long time now...
Most people don't like taxes but the government doesn't have infinite funding ya know. And Obama isn't improving the country by wasting the little money we still have, if any at times. Why do people still support him??? He was our worst president!!!

Wait,you disagreed with me and then agreed, I never said Obama was a bad president, all I said is that raising taxes is better than slashing funding. Obama can't get anything done because of the republicans not letting him Tax the rich more because the republicans are a bunch of sell-outs.

No Bush was your worst president. As far as I know Obama is an OK president but he came to power at a tough time. Not being American though I'm not an expert.

I don't get your wording...Are you saying he's not American, or your not American?

As far as the Bush thing I agree, Obama has tried to get things done, but in the way of that was the fact that people hate change and will do anything to stop it.

You're ******* kidding me, right? Bush was president when 9/11 hit! Obama came into power at a much easier time, less terrorism, ecology and such. The only worse is the economy, which he completely destroyed. He made things worse for himself, yet he blames others. He is a very bold man.
Not being American though I'm not an expert.

Obama is (unfortunately) American.

Too soon. If we start talking about that we'll start talking about conspiracies.

And Obama came in at a much worse time, the economy was already in free-fall, and people expected too much of him, and with republicans not letting anything get accomplished it was impossible. All it took was Bush 6 years to absolutely destroy the economy, it is ridiculous to say Obama has done it, the President has nothing to do with Gas Prices, and at this time he is trying to get popular with the rest of the world to make the USA look better than the fat slobs were seen as. We are the most unpopular country outside of our borders because of the horrible foreign affairs that Bush had.

Tax breaks to the rich and raising taxes for the rest, therefor making a large majority of America unable to afford many things, causing the collapse.

This is what happened because of the Bush years, so much imbalance.

It's impossible to 'fix the world', but he's been making relations much better. Bush was the stereotype American, selfish, and didn't care about anything other than America and oil. If oil wasn't involved he wouldn't talk.

You can't do anything if you have a bunch of idiots standing in your way. And as I said, fixing the world was not his top priority, and I don't know here you get that BS from. Obama is trying to fix what Bush has done, and he can't do that without the republicans consent.

The Democrats gained majorities in the House and Senate in the 2006 Elections, and only lost the Majority in the House in 2010.

Because fighting Wars against Terrorism is free. :/ Part of it IS Bush's fault, mainly because he promised Suger Candy Mountain and then failed to deliver. But to say that the Faulty Morgages and the Housing Market is Bush's fault is border-line ignorant.

the President has nothing to do with Gas Prices


Obama is actually pushing to remove the Gas and Oil Tax breaks. This means that Oil Companies will pay more n taxes to the government. In order to make this moeny back, they'll drive up the prices consumers pay. So really, Obama is indirectly tied to our Gas Prices.

So rather than defending ourselves against our enemies, we should do nothing? You're saying that we shoulding try to make our country stronger and pull out of treaties and commitments that only damage our nation? Like parenting, running a Nation isn't a popularity contest. At some point, you have to put the interest of your country before those of everyone else. And if they make you a few enemies, so what? America for Americans, and all that.

So what? Bush's dad said 'no new taxes' -- that failed. A president isn't elected without making hopeful promises that lie in line with their beliefs, and no president will ever live up to them. But you hope that they will work towards leading it in the correct direction.

And bush's 1.35 Trillion dollar tax cut lie along with wage decrease for americans in later years, even with economic growth. This means that they didn't offer any incentive to invest in new jobs or industry, meaning it was a fail.

And Paarfam, how on EARTH can you expect the leader of the USA to fix the world. Have pride in your country, not some random ego that vindicates it to subjugate the whole world to it's whim.
