I'm sure you've all heard the doom sayers stating that the world will end on Saturday May 21 2011. What is the basis behind this belief that the world will end on this day, what sets this apart from all the other doomsday theories, and where do you stand on this forecast of oblivion.

As long as he is getting money he is more than happy to keep predicting.

I wish I could make money by falsely predicting dates.

Just another Christian. It's just his stuff is a bit more transparent.

This points out the situation pretty well.

Here's what Harold has to say now. Apparently he is claiming the rapture did happen on May 21 but it was spiritual not physical. So he has retreated his claim back to a non-verifiable position.
Shameless

Really I'm not seeing the difference between this and your average Christian claim.

That's a great idea. That way you can claim to be right and no one can prove you wrong. Amazing.

"Harold Camping: I'm not a genius"

NO, REALLY, WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT?

Seriously, what an idiot.

The rapture is not the end of the world guys, now don't get me wrong, i'm not exactly an expert on christianity but in the bible after the rapture occurs there are seven years of trials for humanity which only a quarter of the population will survive. Then there will be the second coming of christ.

I think most people know this. However, most people think of the "rapture" as when all faithful Christians get whisked into Heaven, since it's the start of that time.

When the rapture happened I farted, thats about it. My house didn't fall apart or cracks formed in the road or anything. I left a horrible stench though..

OK, there was no rapture...

but Camping says there was a rapture. He claims it was a "spritual" rapture and that the part where the Earth cooks is on October 21st.

I hate how it's the crazy people who get heard the most.
