I'm sure you've all heard the doom sayers stating that the world will end on Saturday May 21 2011. What is the basis behind this belief that the world will end on this day, what sets this apart from all the other doomsday theories, and where do you stand on this forecast of oblivion.

oh, I see. So does God go by Eastern Standard Time? Or Mountain Time? And has he adjusted for Daylight Savings Time? Or is he an hour behind?

I just got done watching George A. Remeroe's Diary of the Dead. Does that count as the dead rising from the grave?

The world will end when:

1. A wandering black hole comes a bit too close to our galaxy.

2. The sun, or a nearby star, meets its demise.

3. The core of the earth cools down, causing the atmosphere to slowly dissipate. Even this won't destroy the planet, rather, we'll just end up looking a lot more like Mars.

4. Catastrophic collision with a meteor or a planet knocked out of orbit into our trajectory.

...I'm pretty sure that just about covers it, so unless this "Jesus" guy happens to be a black hole, I think we're safe.

Either New Zealand and various Pacific Islands are full of sinners or...Harold Camping was wrong for the second time and will most likely just say he got his calculations a little wrong and make a new prediction, third time lucky right.

I'm pretty sure according to the Westboro Baptist Church that "God hates New Zealand" for some reason or another...

Well, the 21st came and now it's going.

I am getting my hair cut today, I plan on walking in and seeing if he has "It's the end of the world as we know it" on

I am actually embarrassed of this moron. He is using Christianity to bend and misunderstand to believe that today is the end.

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Taking this into account, christians should not believe prophets, and should rather discredit them and shoo them away. Now what interests me is, what is the actual attitude of christianity, as, most christians, and the institution itself, towards prophets?

And also since I am typing this and there are replies on the 21st family radio or whoever those crazy people were were completely wrong.
Besides the sun will explode in 5 billion years REPENT TO STEPHEN HAWKING!!!

There is no way that we are going to be able to predict when the world ends, unless it is by means of a large trackable asteroid

Just wanted to get this copied and pasted here in case they change it later on their site.

What if May 21 ends and nothing occurs?
The Biblical evidence is too overwhelming and specific to be wrong. Christ's people can look with great confidence to this date because God promises His "beloved" He will not come upon them as a thief in the night.
God in His mercy has revealed the vital information needed to know the day. Judgment Day on May 21, 2011 will occur because the bible declares it. Anyone whom God has not saved will arrive at that day with no hope for salvation. God warns simply the "door will be shut."
