So, I was helping my girlfriend write a paper on measuring observational learning and I was looking through a recent article. They seemed to stumble upon a different type of observational learning that defies genetic coding. They observed a reverse in genetically evolved behavior, although the effect was not identified as acquisition of reinforcement by observation. They watched some female guppies which were genetically predisposed to seek out brightly colored males for mating purposes, instead they sought out dull-colored males after observing other female guppies mating with them. The observing guppies modeled the sexual selection of the observed females, thereby demonstrating a reversal of genetically predisposed behavior as a function of observation.
Whether it can be changed or not is ultimately irrelevant. It cannot and should not be applied morally; only the morality itself should be questioned, if anything at all. But again I ask, what defines a homosexual? If any suggests that it's simply having relations with someone of the same gender, then you're really missing quite a large number of self-defined homosexuals.
umm... Its simple... A homosexual man is a man that wants to have relations with guys, and a homosexual girl is a girl that wants to have relations with girls. A guy that wants relations with Britney spears is a homosexual also. Sorry, i couldnt resist ^_^
Okay, so is it wrong then to be a homosexual? There are lots of things I want to do, but I don't because they're "wrong" (really it's because I'm pretty sure I'll get caught, but whatever). Does that make me a bad person?
Dirk: Please realize that sterotypes don't define everybody. All gay men are not going to be the same, so don't judge a whole group of people like that. I understand that you have nothing against gayness in general, though.
Why aren't more men more comfortable with their sexuality? That homophobic notion that a g@y man is gonna hit on a straight guy shouldn't be an issue. 1. He knows you are straight. 2. If you are comfortable in your sexuality, then there is nothing to worry about.
Now, I know it can be nerve racking if you aren't sure about your sexuality because it can stir us some new sensations. I remember when before I came out, when a lesbian would hit on me it would make me uneasy.
