In this thread I will be posting a new movie every Sunday. Before posting in this thread, I advise you to watch the movie. If you've already watched the move in the past, feel free to talk about it. We will talk about the movie. May it be about the storyline, the characters, the actors, etc.. You may also post your critique of the movie here.

For each movie I'll be posting a link to IMDb where you'll get a small description of the movie. I'll also be posting my own little description and critique of the movie.

As for the movies, they will be random. By that, I mean there is no certain genre I will stick with and these movies will be new and old.

I'll take recommendations for movies, but not in this thread. Leave a comment on my profile if you would like to recommend a movie.

That movie was terrible. It followed the plot of the book so terribly that i could barely stand it. It's a major disgrace to my favorite book of all time.

They can't fit all of it into a two and a half hour movie, Dan. I don't see what's so bad about it, other than the ending.

When i say it doesn't follow the plot, i mean not even slightly. They leave 2/3 of the story out of it, then botch it up to work with the 1/3 they stuck in there. They did a terrible job with the movie adaption, which just goes to show that some things just need to be left as they are.

the best seeling movie this week was dolphin tale... it grossed over 14 million...

That's nice, but it has nothing to do with the topic.
I saw Watchmen in theaters. I hated it. It left out so much, plus, I didn't really like the acting. It made me... sick?

That is true, Alan Moore objected the idea of using his books or ideas into Hollywood films in order to assured no one would confuse the two.

For Example V for Vendetta: ..."Specifically about things like fascism and anarchy. Those words, 'fascism' and 'anarchy,' occur nowhere in the film. It's been turned into a Bush-era parable by people too timid to set a political satire in their own country."

Its better to watch the movie (or Alan Moore movies, as well many other ones) like inspired by not based on.

Bearing in mind that, Watchmen its a nice movie.

Movie of the Week:
V for Vendetta!

A masked vigilante joins forces with one of the victims he rescued and employs terrorist tactics to inspire individuals to speak out against their totalitarian government rather than submitting to its constant surveillance.

First, this is the only movie which the VF (french version) is better than the VO ! x)

About the story, I thought it was common, nothing surprised me... But the way ideas take form in image is awsome and the texts was REALLY worked. Inspired from Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot

One of my favorite movie

Someone has a bit of Alan Moore fever going on - considering he created both Watchmen and V for Vendetta. Anyway, I liked V for Vendetta quite a lot, I'm not sure whether I preferred the movie over the comic book or not though. I found them both to be enjoyable and thought provoking though.

I'm no expert on movies or whatever, but I adore V for Vendetta. I don't care about underlying messages or whatever, but I think it was really entertaining and one movie that I wouldn't mind watching often.

Movie of the Week:
Inglourious Basterds!

During World War II, a special unit composed of Jewish-American soldiers is developed and commissioned to violently attack and kill members of the Third Reich, in hopes of instilling fear throughout their enemy's regime.

I watched it out of the corner of my eye, and I got... Well, nothing, out of that movie. It was probably a good film, I believe one of my friends found it funny after watching it in the cinema when it came out, but the effort seems to have been lost on me.

I saw it in theaters when it first came out and really enjoyed it. When I rewatched it, it wasn't as good. Perhaps it was the feeling of being in the theater that made the movie more enjoyable, but it just wasn't as good when I watch it the second time.
I liked how they changed the whole course of history and rewrote it. It was one of my favorite parts of the movie, due to how unique it was. Despite how much I enjoyed some parts of it, I didn't like others. When Aldo Raine's men began to die, I found myself not caring about most of them. I wished they would have put more effort into characterizing each individual character. I also disliked the trailer, because it made it look so much better than it actually was. All the funny parts were in the trailer.
The actors in it were pretty good, but I just didn't like Brad Pitt. His role in the film really disappointed me. The best actors in the film were totally Christoph Waltz, Melanie Laurent, and Eli Roth. Without those three, the movie would have been nothing.
7/10

Usually I don't care for bloody movies, but this one had such a positive tone that I couldn't watch it just once.

I even liked Brad Pitt in this movie. I didn't know he was capable of playing such a likeable character. Usually I just want Brad Pitt's character to die, but in this one I'm glad he *spoiler* didn't.

This movie was a little bit draggy, but I enjoyed watching the whole thing. I enjoyed Hans Landa's character. I also like how the way the main antagonist died

Usually, I don't enjoy Tarantino's films because they are so strange but this one makes me laugh a lot. Christoph Waltz is awesome in this movie, I didn't expect that from him.
Like Ernie15, Brad Pitt surprised me with a "comic" role
