Games. Minecraft has proven their art. Crysis has proved it's not a cash-in market. You have proven they're the best form of entertainment to be had.
But tell me, whether it was roaming Rapture and scavenging for enough materials to get the explosive Bucks to kill that Big Daddy,
Or battling Colossi after Colossi to try and save the one you love,
Or practicing long and hard before taking on "Freebird" on Expert,
Maybe exploring the vastness of the galaxy and evolving your species throughout time and getting ready to fight the Grox,
Building your Civilization from the ground up,
Conquering Rome for the name of Germania,
Smiting the 1000 Heartless
Living with your Porphyric Hemophilia throughout all of Oblivion (vampirism)
Perfecting your technique before flawlessly getting that one awesome Assassination
Gathering the force of Ironheade to liberate the land
Maybe it was something entirely different, but tell Your Friendly Neighborhood Satanist, what was the greatest journey you ever had in a game, where when you finished, you couldn't help but look back on all you've done to reach that point.
Just Cause 2 for YFNS; so many adventures across the nation of Panau, it was a stunt-filled journey I advise anyone to take. All the challenges, the memorable missions, hilarious accents, simply wonderful. 8^)
Okami, don't know why but I got lost in the artful styling of it which is something I don't often appreciate as much as I should plus it was respectably challenging and very innovative in it's gameplay. I recommend this game to anyone (but good luck finding it, it's really rare and I am treasuring my copy)
well i think it was crysis 2 i love the game and the style how you punch a enemy and it flies away cause of our power in the suit !!! and how we fight the enemy in silent cause if we fight them very loud we are a dead meat ...
Actaully one of the best games Ive ever played, beaten 5 time begining to end, and am on my 6 run, and have spent 96 hours on, is Dark messiah Might and Magic. You can buy it through steam very cheap. It got an extremely low rating but its amazing, and runs on Valvas famous Source Engine(2006 version)
Dragon Age: Origins was tremendous. I'd go as far as to say it may be my favourite game of all time. The whole idea of creating your character from scratch, and being able to say what you want to shape the events that will follow throughout the game is just great. Really loved the journey through this game. I was sad when it was over.
Fable 1 was also very fun. Being able to do things that can alter future gameplay, being in full command. Those are the games I love the most.
The FF series is also great, I especially enjoyed FF 13. The story is just really fun to go through.
...Pokemon Ruby. Grinding my Pokemon, searching for the legendaries, preparing for every gym, and battling the Elite Four. I'm still playing it, and have over 3 days of play time on it.
Also, I just love destroying (eviscerating, annihilating, etc.) Wally's Pokemon every time he tries to challenge me.
5th- Super Mario Galaxy 2 When you travel through the universe, complete insane challenges, outrageous missions and epic bosses, you feel an odd sense of pride for travelling through 8 worlds, to find out there is a secret world at the end. And then there's the green stars... and the Grandmaster Galaxy...
4th- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time Simply an amazing game. From travelling to the great Deku tree, to breaking out of Ingo ranch with Epona, to battling Bongo Bongo but running out of arrows and magic half way through the battle, an epic tale of a boy who becomes the hero of time.
3rd- L.A. Noire Starting out as a patrol cop, then getting into the detective business, the whole game is great. The most I enjoyed out of the game is most definitely the feeling you get when you get a confession on a tough case, especially when you use all of your spare time piecing together the clues to get the result you're looking for.
2nd- Infamous 2 When you are given choices as tough as this game gives you, it is almost certain that you have to pick a side and stay with it. The fighting system is so, frankly, epic, that stringing together 3 midair head shots on militia, then swinging your AMP at the corrupted and letting of your greatest Ultra Combo is just another 5 minutes. The side missions test your skills to the max, and the Titans and Devourers are sooooo fun to kill. What side do you prefer to play as? For me, villain all the way.
1st- Dragon Quest IX Huge gameplay, Huge variety, Huge game map, Huge upgrade system, Huge power (With the right equipment), Huge bosses,... the list goes on and on and on. There is frankly, in my eyes, no way I could fit everything I love about this game into one comment, so I'll let those lucky people who played the game have flashbacks about taking down that liquid metal slime, collecting far more grotto maps than is by any means necessary, leveling up your four characters in as many differences classes as possible, letting your paladin soak up the damage, while your gladiator makes a huge blow while your mage weakens the enemy (And don't forget you're priest healing any 'flesh wounds' that your warriors might have), there is just so much greatness in that game. And not to mention the fact that the game is so big, I think I've had this game the day it came out, and still haven't 100% completed it yet. Dragon Quest, you take the prize.
i almost forgot the resident evil franchise those games give you a massive sense of achievement after you have beat them it take time and effort to do and they are pretty tough but you get so emerged in the story you dont even realise
Champions: Return to Arms, Assassin's Creed II, Dynasty Warriors 4-6{including the empires games}, Splinter Cell{all}, and a few others. I'm very fond of Champions: Return to Arms because it's a very long game and you can complete it multiple ways, you choose your destiny and such. You can also complete it with a family member/friend if you want.
