Hey, guys. I don't know if there is an "official thread" for metal, so, here's one where you can talk about your favorite metal/punk/hard rock artists, music and albums. Have fun!
Oh, and please don't spam. Keep it metal, guys! : )
Kind of Metal ? WTF ?! MetalHeads drink beers and bang their heads. That's all. If you're a MetalHead, you don't care about that. You can't.
Also my favorite metal bands are probably Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains, Metallica, and Iron Maiden.
Those bands (except Maiden maybe) have changed during their careers and people keep listening to them. This is a perfect exemple to show the triviality to put a "label" on Metal Bands.
From my point of view, there are not different kinds, there are different bands. All are unique.
i agree with KrissKhan , every band is different but that's a good thing Also i like a lot from sabaton and agent steel , btu also a lot of new stuff like suicide silence and salt the wound
I like a lot of Death Metal, especially the technical bands like Gojira, Nile, The Faceless, Archons, and Deeds of Flesh. The insane solos are what get me into it. The fact that's also hard to predict helps it out quite a bit, too.
This is a rerelease with some added value. Hellhammer/Celtic Frost along with Venom, Bathory and Possessed are credited as starting Black Metal. This is raw and evil.
Not sure how many of you like Brutal Death Metal, but just in case, I found this new band the other day. They're called Abominable Putridity.
i love three days grace idk if they are really metal they are more of hard rock
I'd say either Hard Rock or Alternative, but this is really the only time I can think of where discussing which band goes under which genre would be important. I listen to what I like, and most of what I like seems to be metal.
For those of you who know about Morbid Angel, what do you think of their latest album? I know it's not too fair that I used the worst song on the album, but a lot of the album is terrible.
@ Turtleman1234: I don't enjoy the last album like I enjoyed the previous. But I don't know them very well, I saw them on stage at the Wacken Open Air 2011, that was nice : D
They're more Old School Death Metal and they had been inactive for almost 10 before putting out Illud Divinum Insanus. But if you look at the releases of all their albums from the first to the latest, you'll notice that they go through the letters of the alphabet, only skipping E.
No idea. Maybe they couldn't come up with something to do with religion that started with an E? That might be it, or maybe it was just a stupid mistake and didn't realize it until they released Formulas Fatal to Flesh. We'd have to ask the band members to be sure.
What do you think of it? High expectations for the EP? Or do you think that they might try to change their style to a point where it's like Morbid Angel's last album? I personally love the song and have high hopes for this EP, which I think will be released either later this year or early 2012.
