Just like the title says, What do you look for in a video game, plz give a reason why you look for this element and dont do "cause it makes it fun", do WHY it makes it more fun for you.
I look for engaging gameplay, a semi challenging game I can't stand hard games, entertainment, and if its a shooting game something other than campaign. thats all!
It can't be too long, like in Legend of Zelda where you have to walk between each of the temples, which are really far apart, plus the impossibly large amount of side quests.
It has to be challenging, but not too hard, otherwise it isn't fun. Also, Boss fights (and the music that comes with those fights) are what I really like in games. Boss fights are definitely a key part of most games.

i love free roam rpg's the most like the fallout series or the elder scrolls. pretty much any thing packed with quests, weapons and hidden stuff. i like a game with good story too.
I look for normal guy stuff.. or football. But I kinda got stuck with the CoD series ONLY because I got addicted to it back in 7th grade. and no, not the "love" addiction.. but the series "cant-stop" addiction.
is the game exciting? Has it got good audio/sounds? good-looking graphic+Anti-Aliasing? Has it got a good story? Maybe cool characters? And nice special stuff, maybe never seen in games before? I love realistic games so when I play I'm looking after that the most.
When I look for a game to play I look for an engaging plot (but not completely cinematic like FF) solid gameplay aspects and most importantly... INNOVATION. When I play/buy a game I want to know it's gonna be a different experience for me. To give you an idea of what I mean, try looking up the game Okami for the wii (it's also for PS2 but I think it fits the wii a little better). It is one of the most inventive games I have ever seen. It has interesting graphics that can entrance you, a good story and painting interaction scheme that I have never seen rivaled anywhere else.

So graphics and high quality sound is what you like best about a game?
Well for me, there's two things that make the game memorable or fun. One is that there is some kind of shop or store you can buy upgrades or equipment in. If any of you have played a game called "Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest" Then you know what I am talking about. Another thing that I enjoy in a video game, especially during a campaign, is that once you complete it, you can roam around and complete side quests or find coins, gems, etc. that you missed. So that's what I find good in a game.
I look for a game with a great story, good gameplay, good sounds/music, and fair difficulty levels. For the good story I also want reasons to make me want to play the game again. Gameplay I like gameplay that makes me feel like I am actually the person and I am actually holding a weapon or item and other things like that. Sounds well I'm sure I don't have to explain that much but for music, I like games that make me want to go out and buy the whole soundtrack and listen to it without having to play the actual game. Difficulty because if I play a game I don't want it to be so hard that I quit playing it(though if it's a game that's supposed to be challenging then that's okay).

If you want it realistic, then why do you like music?
I look for good play value. Even after i dump weeks of work into a game and i want to still have things i can do in it. like DLC extra quest for RPG's. it's sad when you "beat" a game in a week and then have no reason to ever play it again
