Today is the day that, or so camping claims, the world ends. every one Die's today because the world ends. Or is this just another one of his wild theories. I cant help but laugh at this predicament.
However, if we are simply the result of chance processes, then how can we be sure that our senses correspond to reality?
We have no other basis to go by. No matter what we do, we have to interact with the world in some way, so even if we create something that uses its own "sense" (Electron Microscope for example) we still have to use our sense to interpret that.
You're simply attributing everything to God. You have no reason to do this other than some 2000 year old book of stories written by multiple people's word of mouth accounts.
Its kind of off topic but tell me guys. Even a pen is made by someone.Someone is the maker of that pen. Then tell me, how come this world b created by chance.
Obviosly it wasn't the big bang that created us. If you read popular science you'll know what I mean.
...Now link me your ''opular science'' sources. One can very easily bandy around the term ''opular X'' sources and claim whatever one speaks is the truth.
Big bang theory = a theory about how the univers became existing. Abiogenesis = how life became existing. evolution = how life evolves from other life. 2011 = where we are now.
I must have forgotten about that passage or your just pulling this from some other equally smelly place.
Genesis 1

You're right that the reliability of our senses is a necessary presupposition. However, even presuppositions need to be justified. The Bible as a worldview explains why we should be able to trust our senses. Evolution, on the other hand, does not. There is no reason to believe that the collection of chemical reactions preserved for their survival convey information about our surroundings that is accurate.

Yes, there is. There is plenty of reason to belive science. Science is based on proof. Experiments that you yourself can duplicate. There is plenty of reason to belive Evolution.
Except for the fact that since we used these senses our species is still alive...Seems pretty likely to me that our senses would be correct most of the time.

They can be wrong you know. That's what smelling things that aren't there, seeing things that aren't there, not hearing things, not feeling or etc is.
Since we do know our senses can be wrong, how can you just blindly accept those who have claimed to speak with God, or who claim to have had visions? We know that these things do not happen, that if you hear voices and what not it is a sign of mental illness.
Let me ask you this, do you believe that the Mormon faith is correct? They claim to have a prophet who was divinely contacted, along with the same "evidence" to back it up.

It is a possibility that the chemical reactions preserved for their survival value give us accurate information about the universe. However, it is equally possible that what we perceive as our senses is simply the result of an advanced metabolic reaction that allows us to survive better than some other organisms; effectively a Matrix world.

I certainly do not accept every claim to revelation from God. I believe that Bible is God's Word because the biblical worldview alone can make sense of the necessary preconditions of intelligibility (like reliability of senses). Mormonism does not pass this test. Consider laws of logic. As a Bible-believer, I believe that laws of logic are a reflection of the way God thinks, a standard for truth based off of God's nature. The Bible says that God is self-consistent, and all truth is in God. Therefore, it makes sense that truth will be consistent (A=A, Aâ ~A). Mormonism, on the other hand, teaches that God has changed over time, that God used to be a man. Therefore, the Mormon cannot have a comparable basis for laws of logic, because laws of logic would necessarily change over time. Who knows if God is done evolving? Perhaps tomorrow, if Mormonism is true, contradictions will be true.
