its kind of annoying and sometimes the only way to argue is use a subjective statement as well. your argueing with a christian? give him a muslim point of view and show him that everything HE sais can be said by you to say that he is the one with no faith.
I tend to compare accepting religious claims on faith tantamount to accepting the claims of a conman. In this case the conman is religion.
MageGrayWolf you never stop impressing me and yes when has a religion ever been completely true >.>

that will make them frustrating and probably leave the argument as it is
True true true when they know they can't win the argument they shut up when their are many thy keep trying to make you believe in god why cause the parents got them too attached to the belief of a god .
Nice video, Mage. MythBusters, Stephen Fry, (just watched him like 2 hours ago on Sherlock Holmes 2), the list is endless. I know now I'm not COMPLETELY alone now.
Me, I am an atheist. Jumping in on this thread really i have no idea what i'm getting into completely, but i've read a couple pages of this. My school that I go to is nearly completely populated with the 2% of society that is smarter than the rest. Basically all of the school (from what i've gathered) is about 95% atheist. Occasionally, during lunch while playing chess someone in the room brings up why are you atheist? Then begin putting atheism down. Generally, it angers the room's population and the person who brought it up see criticism after criticism against their religion, and vast explanation of atheism. My personal experience in a place where atheism is a minority. P.S. I live in Canada in case you're wondering.

****, dude, you don't know how lucky you really are. I go to a school that's, hmm... about 98% Christian and about 2% Non-Religious (Agnostics, Atheists, Secular, Humanists).
Hitler was a lax Roman Catholic and Stalin once said that if he was not the USSR ruler he would have wanted to be a priest.
Anyway @Stephen, doesn't matter whether you go to an atheist minority or majority school, it just depends on whether the school is good and the people nice. Oh and the food.
I think people should believe wat they want to believe.
I wish that was true but as long as their are different religions they will always believe that others believe in a wrong way. and Mage that video has stated many truths and was very motivational and last time I checked I'm very happy with the way I am and I am usually praised by my teachers and when someone talks trash about atheism to me I tell them tell me that when you beat me on the next quiz with your own skill other than praying you do well on it, after that they shut up for a long time.
So anyone who has beliefs in anything, even with substantial reasoning Is considered by you to be a conman? Seems a bit harsh to me.
Nah, you misunderstand what I said. Anyone who tries to tell me or persuade me to believe in something/nothing is a conman in my eyes. For the most part, I could care less what anyone believes, as long as they keep it to themselves. When it comes to religion, I don't need anyone to lead me to water and especially not to make me drink it. If there's water, I can find it on my own just fine and choose to drink if I want or find my own stream.
Yeah, that too. That's pretty much all that's good about that school now.
When I was in school we had the nastiest mashed potatoes with the thickest brightest yellow gravy. All 12 years, no matter what the menu was for that day it seemed it included the mashed potatoes with the yellow gravy. Did I mention that it tasted horrible? Well, I always ate it and licked the plate. Never quite grew accustomed to the taste though. Why did I eat it? I guess, I did it as a big f*** you. Then again, I'm just an odd duck.
Nah Mage, the conmen are the clergy, religion is the product they're selling us.
I don't know about that considering many are buying into it themselves.
I view anyone who says I should believe in this or this makes more sense as a conman. Atheist or Theist it doesn't matter to me.
What if they are backing that statement up with evidence?
If someone offers to sell you a bridge, shows you papers demonstrating they can legally sell it to you and you can take those papers to someone else and verify they aren't forgeries. Then it stands they aren't conning you. However if you are just expected to trust what they say or the papers the present turn out to be fake, then they are conning you.
The process above can be applied to anything to determine the validity of a statement. Just because someone makes a claim doesn't mean that claim is false.
