Most cultures shun non-believers like atheists. (which I am and will take no offense if you disagree with me)What do you think about it?

And I know he's not referring to himself, but the way he was going on about atheists, was that people think that atheists are evil/bad/undesirable, using the word Satanist in a way that sounds pejorative.

I see how you could think that, but I hope you know that I didn't mean to say that. Where I'm from, Satanism is very misunderstood.

he was saying that a lot of people think that Atheists = Satanists. Not himself.

Yes. And by saying that, I'm not trying to say there is anything wrong with Satanists, it's just that people tend to misunderstand what it means to be a Satanist and classifies them as bad people.

the vast majority of christians
Hmm, I must get the nuts, then. Let's see who's tried to convert me... my sister... most of the school... my mom and dad... yeah, all those people. Of course, I live in the Bible Belt, so it's probably worse than other places like the north.

Presumably your family is quite religious, so what do you think sets you apart from them? I mean, did you once believe and then one day thought 'Hang on a minute.... '?

Yeah, pretty much. An Atheist friend of mine, while I was still Christian, introduced me to Pastafarnism (or something like that. Can't spell that.) and it just clicked in my head, like a little light switch.

Why believe in something that's never been seen in any other books other than th bible for all we care it could all be gibberish.

Thank you. My sister was arguing with me, and then I asked her, "any proof other than a 2,000 year-old book of questionable origin?" She didn't answer.

oh sweet that would shut many people up and have you ever had a friend that supported your ideals cause all my friends support my ideals since they don't care much about church and would be happier with out it .

Um, pretty much all my friends are Atheists since most of the Christians in the school I could care less for. (I still have two Christian friends, because they don't really bother me for it.) So, yeah, I've had them support my ideals. (The Atheist friends, that is.)

The Bible in its current form though has been heavily edited by the church. There were scrolls before a Bible existed, many of which were discarded because they didn't suit the churches argument, so it is possible they provide the context that the Bible is missing.

All I'm saying is, if you read a heavily edited book that omits certain information, it is impossible to say what happened and what didn't.

Yeah, they just made the New Testament to fix their flaws, and there's still tons of them.

Ah yes. The Dead Sea Scrolls which were hidden away from the horrors of the modern church.

i wish that was true. then comes the dreaded saying: "you need faith" which leaves you like this :S

its kind of annoying and sometimes the only way to argue is use a subjective statement as well. your argueing with a christian? give him a muslim point of view and show him that everything HE sais can be said by you to say that he is the one with no faith.

that will make them frustrating and probably leave the argument as it is
