Hello and Welcome to the "Summer Tournament of 2012 Colony Tournament" forum page
I would like to start a summer tournament for this year. I plan on starting all of the organization now since in past experience I have learned that if I wait to much longer everything will fail.
Now then, the first order of business will be to decide whether to have a 2v2 or 1v1 tournament. My vote goes towards 2v2 this year even though more planning will be involved to making this work.
Secondly, we will need to decide if it's going to be set up in groups (ABCD, EFGH, IJKL), stages (AvsB+CvsD=AvsC), or just have everyone plays everybody(AvsB, AvsC, AvsD...).
Third, should we come up with some requirements such as beat a player or group of players in a game? Or beat computers? Or win in a weekly scheduled pre-tourney entry game?
After all of that is figured out/even before all that is decided we need people to sign up. If we can't get enough people to sign up there's no tournament anyway.

If this tournament is going to succeed, it should probably start within the next week or so. Im sure that a lot of the people who originally signed up are already inactive.
i agree with Zacch(g3tSome) it should be held starting th e day you get back most players will lose interest and start summer projects by the end of july
Oh come on, stop with these discouraging posts everyone, they ain't helpful by any bit!
I'm pretty sure Chess will handle this event and everything around it. With a bit more support from our side, the whole thing has potential to become an amazing tournament! After all, it is the first 2v2 tournament of that size.
I still haven't contacted my partner yet, Chess. Place me with another, if possible. if you can't do that and need to boot me out of the Tournament, then i won't mind too horribly.
Ok guys... Like I said the tournament will be happening on the 21 of July, that is the starting date. And btw its going to be July of 2012 just so there's no confusion. This is the largest 2v2 tournament that will actually be held. Now then any more questions I will now be able to answer within a day or 2.
That gives me a week to make the schedule... I will post it within 9 days... I would suggest to start practicing!
