Hello and Welcome to the "Summer Tournament of 2012 Colony Tournament" forum page
I would like to start a summer tournament for this year. I plan on starting all of the organization now since in past experience I have learned that if I wait to much longer everything will fail.
Now then, the first order of business will be to decide whether to have a 2v2 or 1v1 tournament. My vote goes towards 2v2 this year even though more planning will be involved to making this work.
Secondly, we will need to decide if it's going to be set up in groups (ABCD, EFGH, IJKL), stages (AvsB+CvsD=AvsC), or just have everyone plays everybody(AvsB, AvsC, AvsD...).
Third, should we come up with some requirements such as beat a player or group of players in a game? Or beat computers? Or win in a weekly scheduled pre-tourney entry game?
After all of that is figured out/even before all that is decided we need people to sign up. If we can't get enough people to sign up there's no tournament anyway.

July 22 and 23 are the two days of play for round 1... if you do not play best 2/3 during those two tournament days you will be kicked from the tourney.

If you're going to have the tournament over multiple days, you are going to have a massive amount of no shows. If it's knockout, then if there is just ONE day that one player from one team cannot show up, that's a forfeit for the team.
So the only teams which can actually win are those where both team members can attend all days. That is going to be maybe 10% of your player base?
All Matches Will Be Happening At 8 O'clock PM, Sunday July 22 and Monday July 23! You May Play Your Matches Before Then If You Work Out A Time To Play Against Your Opponents.

If your partner does not show up and someone is online and available at that time you may partner up with them.
Not sure if this is true but i heard that clausee is in the hostipal tried to kill himself ... not sure
Well then we won't know unless he contacts us himself and if that's true then, how did anybody get this information? I heard of it 3 days ago but I thought it was a lie so is it false or true?

Don't believe everything you hear... if you heard that he killed himself three days ago then it probably isn't true.
I've been trying to get Maelstrom back into Colony but it hasn't worked too well, so I'm hoping for either a fluke win or a no-show on this one =)
It's a bit too restrictive i think. 8 PM might be in the middle of the night of some of us. I will be there thought, if the time zone is good for me, and if someone is missing, i can play. I won't be there the rest of the week thought, so i don't know when would be the rest of the tournament, but if we have to change, i might not be able to play if we win.

8 PM EST... i already checked timezones that people gave me. For everyone who posted the times they were online this fits into that time-frame. Im not a stupid person who will just pick a time i put thought into it!
The only people who might have a problem are Darktroop and Clausse who might have to play a 1 oclock in the morning... but i know dark will stay up till 4 anyway and clausse will probably just find a different time to play his opponents.
