@Hahi Yeah, sorry.
Slight contradiction in what I said.

Basically, what I'm saying is that that I do believe ghosts are real but they're not in full physical form when you see them, hence hologram and that you can feel the presence of someone even if you can't see them at that time.

By "afterlife" I meant heaven/hell or whatever it is called in other religions.
I don't think ghosts are in an afterlife but they just may be 'trapped?' on earth.
I would still like to believe for peace of mind and whatnot that if I die it's possible that there's an afterlife, even if it isn't factual or proven that there is one.

That somewhat explain what I'm trying to say?
I could probably word it better if I wasn't tired.

I once got a group of kids to believe I was a ghost haunting a stretch of road. That is what their personal experience and what they saw told them. How is yours any better?

I was alone in my house in the middle of the night and the house was empty at the time.

yeah so? how does that rule out any of the other possible methods that could result in thinking you saw a ghost that i suggested? The point is our senses can be very easily fooled. This is why you shouldn't rely on subjective personal experience.

that you can feel the presence of someone even if you can't see them at that time.

We can do this because our brains are capable of constructing a representation of an individual. Just for a basic way this can work try holding a conversation in your head with Obama. You can picture what he looks like, the sort of responses he would give, you might even hear his voice in your head. Now just extend that ability to the feeling of someone being around.

I don't think ghosts are in an afterlife but they just may be 'trapped?' on earth

Than shouldn't we be inundated with ghosts all over the place considering there have been estimated to be over 20 billion people that have ever existed and this number becomes even more problematic if you want to include other animals.

Killersup feels that some "special" spirits do roam this realm. Not all of them, only the ones that cannot lay at rest. He feels that they exist on a different plane though, a plane that humans cannot see. Yet very few times are the spirit's will strong enough to make it past the barrier that is the plane. These spirits have nothing to do with a God though, of any sort.

Any evidence of any of that?

I have a few good ones for you guys.

A few years ago, I was home  with my two dogs and my GF was working.
I was on my computer in the basement when I heard steps upstairs and my dogs heard it too because they barked. So I run upstairs, look everywhere, they're nobody. Go back downstairs, hear steps again, run upstairs, then on second floor, nobody there either. I can't explain this one.

Another day, I had my trash can opened in my kitchen, I pick up a purple soda cap, throw it in the trash, turn around to wipe the counter, 3 seconds later I get a cap on my back, turn around, there's a red cap on the floor. :O
I think I can explain this one: My GF drinks flavored waters with different flavors like lime, grape, strawberry, etc.
I think there was a red cap in the trash can and when I threw the purple one inside, there might have been a red one already inside and it bounced back out.
One night at 3:00 am, I woke up, the night stand lamp on my GF's side is on. I turn it off, later in the morning I ask her if she got up during the night to go to the bathroom, she said no. Can't explain this one either.

Another morning I take a shower, get off, start drying myself with my towel, all of a sudden, two rubber gloves fall on my shoulder. How is it possible since those rubber gloves are in the cabinet under the sink and there's nowhere on top of the shower to put or hang anything. :O

Morning again, we get up, my GF noticed that the picture of her dead friend is turned. I asked her if something like that ever happened, she said yes it was the third time it happens since her friend died. :O

These events happened over a period of about 3 years.
Since we moved into a brand new house, nothing strange ever happened.

Weird isn't it?
And no. I don't believe in God or Satan.
I believe in Santa though. xD

Do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not?

No; same reason as MGW.

One night at 3:00 am, I woke up, the night stand lamp on my GF's side is on. I turn it off...

Perhaps the switch was turned partway, just enough to still be off, and turned on through natural forces (gravity, friction, etc). I just did it with my own lightswitch (took a vid, made screenshots, didn't feel like uploading a gif):

Nope, it was one of those you push in and it sticks out on the other side.
If it had been a touch lamp, it would be another story because if you have a faulty circuit, the light turns on and off by itself. :)

I've done it with basically any type of switch. Even those can be borderline'd.

Objects moving by themselves can be caused by any number of phenomena, small unnoticed tremors, EMF of the right intensity has been shown to levitate objects that aren't even magnetic just to name a couple.

I had a situation where I watched a lamp move across a rigged surface very swiftly (I was not watching the lamp waiting for something to happen...I just happened to be looking in the direction at the time)...it wasn't a surface where the lamp could just easily slide across..you'd have to put a lil effort into sliding it on that surface...would this situation still fit under these? The lamp didn't lift up...and I doubt a small, unnoticeable tremor could have made it move across that surface
