"Virtual-Reality-Gaming has been around for a little over a decade," the reporter says, smile plastered on her cheery face, "but not in a way that the game company Fictusrem is now presenting it."
The reporter at the gaming convention goes on to explain that a new game was coming out- a fantasy mmorpg that allowed the player to embrace and explore a whole new world. To you this sounds like a great game, so you pre-order the console and the game.
You take it that you are very lucky- the game sells out only minutes after you purchase it. 25,000 copies sold in a matter of days. This game is called 'Brave Souls', and as you unwrap the console, hook it up, and then input the game into the headgear, you can't help but feel happy.
You turn on the game- and enter a vast world.....
But everything isn't as it seems.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Hello! Welcome to my first real attempt at a Forum Game. To save some confusion and perhaps some name-calling, this idea is not my own, but is based heavily off of an anime show called Sword Art Online. I highly recommend watching it, not only because it could give you a feel for this game, but because its a highly praised show; one that I personally really enjoyed.
But, if you don't want to watch it, that's fine, too. I will try to explain the concept quickly: A virtual reality game comes out, and once the player gets inside the game, there is no log-out option. They are told by the game's creator that they are trapped in the game and they are not allowed to leave until the players complete the 100th level of the game. There is a catch, and that is, if you die within the game, the headset will emit high frequency microwaves into your brain, killing you. Thus, this game just got a lot more serious.
If you want to play, then just post the following character sheet and we can go from there.

CHARACTER SHEET
Name: This is the name of your character, and the name that others will be able to see you by. In otherwords, it is your username for the mmo
Race: See below. Each race gives different types of bonuses.
Background: Optional, make it of the actual person in the virtual-reality-headset.
Starting Kit: See below, gives you different equipment to kcikstart you into the game.
Inventory Determined by Starting Kit.
Abilities This is the equivalent to Skills in other RPGs. They are the things you train and get better at. There are said to be an unlimited amount.

RACES:
Common Human: The generic common person. They are astonishingly average- not standing out or having any clear flaws to distinguish them from others.
+20% Starting Gold
Condling- This breed of small people are black skinned and black haired. They receive:
-

A 15% bonus to speed, health regen and whenever they are 2 miles away from a swamp, marsh, fen, ect.

-Once per ingame day, a Belua can disappear in a cloud of smoke. They are, in reality, invisible and can move undetected for 10 seconds before reappearing.
-Upon death, a Belua turns undead and grows 3.5x normal size, attacking anything in sight with a 20% attack and damage bonus. It has -75% health however.
-A Belua has a +3 Attack Bonus with simple weapons.

-Bronze Ringmail {+5 AC}
-You may also add the following ability to the 'Ability' tab: 'Break, Lvl 1'. Break= User strikes a blow to specifically break a foes weapon, armor, shield ect. Deals 1d4 DMG to the item.
Monk
This is a lightly armored and usually unarmed warrior that focuses on his expertise in martial arts. You start with the following to add to your inventory slots:

If you do not choose Quarterstaff or Bronze Shuko, you can automatically start with this ability at Lvl 2, which Grants 1d4+1 damage with bare hands.
-The Monk also starts with a Basic Food Package. Once your character opens it up, the game will automatically transfer the results into your inventory.

COMBAT ROUND 1~ JACKinbigletters {HP 12/12}vs. 2x Sand Wolf {
Initiative (Initiative roll decides who moves first) Results:
JACKinbigletters result= 22 (18 base+4 kit bonus)
x2 Sand Wolf= 3

You brandish your weapons and slice at one of the wolves' necks, slicing clean into it, sending the beast back into the sands from which it emerged. It lay there, waiting for you to search it for items. The other one instinctively tries to pounce on you, but you manage to hold it back by crossing your short swords defensively. Wolf saliva hotly splashes across your face as you push the gnawing beast back. You grin, still not completely use to the breath-taking realism of Brave Souls. It is an addicting feeling, one that pumps adrenaline through your body.

I slice my swords diagonally down, turning my block into an attack, aiming for the mouth or head area.

Sure if you want. It would be interesting to see it.

Something tells you these beasts are not cuddly.

COMBAT ROUND 1~ Spikeabc{15/15 HP}; Stranger{Unknown HP} vs. 4x Sand Wolf {Unknown HP}
Initiative (Initiative roll decides who moves first) Results:
Spikeabc= 4
Stranger= 19
4x Sand Wolf= 15

The big man screams (rather embarrassingly) at the wolves and drags out his spear, and throws it at the closest wolf (which is probably about 20 feet away). The spear glides cleanly through the air, the piece of metal seeming so beautiful.... That is until it clearly misses and strikes into the sand, making only half the distance to the Sand Wolf.
Taking advantage of the unarmed man, three of the wolves go after him, sending one your way.
Diving out of the way of the first wolf, the man is then pinned down by the two pursuing ones. On wolf digs into his leg and he screams in pain{.... but the manual said that you weren't suppose to feel pain.. you think suddenly.} and the other going for his out stretched arm. His bellows are lost in the mass chaos, however as thousands of players battle thousands of wolves.
The wolf attacking you leaps and you manage to summon the timing to kick it in midair. It slides on the ground, then slumps back onto its feet, growling even lower. You straighten up and take a defensive position.

What do you do?

Allright! You Select your Race, Class, Name and your vision goes black. Suddenly, a light fills the screen.... You wish you could wince but for some reason you feel like you can't.
Floating in the middle of a white screen is a peculiar creature.
A Sophian You think as you examine it. You notice to your right an interface-type option menu appears. It seems you can customize the looks of this creature that's suppose to be you.

COMABT ROUND 2~ Spikeabc{15/15 HP}; Stranger{Unknown HP} vs. 4x Sand Wolf {Unknown HP}
Initiative Results:
Spikeabc= 17 (Goes first!)
4x Sand Wolf= 7
Stranger= 4

This time, however, you move first. You lunge towards the off-guard beast , swinging down ontop of the beast, striking it deeply in the back. The wolf yelps as sand sprays out from its matted fur. It slams into the ground, dead.
The battle isn't over yet, though. There are two creatures gnawing at the man, one more on its way to. Another wolf bites the man's foot. The man seems to flail wildly, and lands a punch right in the jaw of one of the wolves, which stands back disoriented from the blow.

What do you do?

Combat 'Math':
Initiative is decided by a random roll of numbers ranging from 1-20. This could be imitated by use of a 20-sided polyhedral die, or by use of the website random.org, which is the tool that I use for my numbers. You can gain initiative bonus's by training Initiative Abilities, or training Core Stats like Speed, which provide a smaller bonus to Initiative. (They are also harder to train)
Since you won Initiative, you go first. The Base Speed on a character is 30 feet per turn, so you easily make it to the wolf. You attack it, resulting in another 1-20 roll to determine if you hit the beast. The AC (Or Armor Check) of the Sand Wolf is 10, and you rolled a 14. You hit the beast and deal damage, which for your weapon is 1d6 (Or 1 roll of a six sided die). We use random.org and you roll a 4, which kills the Sand Wolf, because it has 4 ?Starting HP.
Next, The Sand Wolves go. The first two that were attacking the Stranger on the ground missed their attack roles ( One rolled a 4, the other a 6; this does not hit the Strangers AC value of 12) but the third one that missed the Stranger in Combat Round 1 did hit (with a 14) and dealt 1d4 damage (determined by random.org). The wolf only did 1 damage. Its the Stranger's turn next and he performs an unarmed attack with a -3 attack penalty (since he is untrained in unarmed fighting). He manages to land it with an attack role of 14 (Initial role 17, minus 3= 14). He deals 1d4-1 damage for being unarmed and deals 3 damage (4-1=3).
That should be the combat round... Hopefully I explained it well. I will continue to do this for you.

You input and make changes to the model until it satisfies you. Grinning, you are surprised that the game detected that you were finished making changes to your character.
The screen seems to fade again, slowly this time into an ebony landscape... You wake up..Or.... you open your eyes, regaining sight. Red Letters mark 'Day 1' on the corner of your vision. They dissipate after a few seconds and you take in your surroundings.
You seem to be in some sort of Colosseum. The sand feels warm beneath your feet, the smell of food drifts to you from some direction.... The sun glares down on you and the many people that are joining into the game. The arena seems to be triangular, with scenic murals off to to one wall, with tapestries coloring the other walls. There are closed, rusted iron gates on all 3 walls. There is a very large statue in the center of the depicting a cloaked figure holding a set of keys in one of his hands.
You aren't the only player there, however. Some are inspecting the gate, others talking to eachother in a panicked way.... It seems to be a chaos growing in volume as more players join into the game.

What do you do?

You look for a nearby player and see a tall figure not far from you. You find one, a short man with golden cropped hair that contrasts his dark skin tone.
"Hey what's going on?" You ask him.

"Beats me," he replies. "It seems we are all locked here. And im getting worried because more and more people keep joining in...." his voice trails off, then picks back up, "Like the creators are waiting for everyone to join in or something."
He smirks lightly at you and scans the crowd, apparently looking for someone.

I'd like to join but I have a few thing I want to know, do you have to use one of the races posted on page one or can you make your own, also can you make your own class/kick start kit or are you stuck with the ones already there?
