Yes, the US has many troops deployed overseas. By the way, if Canada invaded, the US would have it's troops at home to at least hold off Canada. By all means, once men could be gathered the US would still be able to repel a Canadian invasion and now, in this age, it wouldn't take years of marching to return and defend one's homeland.

No, listen. Lets just say it was one and one, Canada and USA. Everyone else just ignored them. no outside help. USA would win, of course. It has a larger, and more technologically advanced military. With five entire branches of military, each specializing in their field, we would demolish them.

well the thing is most canadian allies are also allies of the usa.
so if there would be a war, most countries would have to decide on whose side there are. and probably it would happen on the basis of who started and for what reason. and because both countries would have great explanations for starting a war the allies would split up between the 2.
also the us army would really quickly be able to conquer all major cities, because their army is superior to any army in the world. but the canadian would just move north and hide somewhere in the huge country there is, where no american soldier can find or win against them.

excellent point! I think that, like russia, Canada's harsh terrain is a huge military tactical advantage. If a war occured, and America WOULD gain the upper hand because of it's unstoppable military, i think it would hit a wall when it came to taking over the harsher parts of Canada. History repeats itself. Napoleon and Hitler failed to conquer russia all because of harsh winters and rugged terrain.
With today's capabilities, what Napoleon and Hitler couldn't do can be done (but with difficulty). Though only the northern part of Canada is harsh and frozen. Most of the population can be found in the south. The south will be easier to conquer.
