Masquerade, you believe in Evolution??!! If we evolved from seaweed and monkeys why arent seaweed and monkeys still evolving today?
They are.

There is something I never got about Christianity. They say if you believe in Jesus and accept him as your savior, you go to heaven. Does that mean you can ****, murder, steal and cheat, but by accepting Jesus you go to heaven?
Yep. God loves us that much.

I always imagined Jesus as more of a Buddha. I think that, should he have really existed, he was saying, "The road to redemption is not by following and believing, but by improving yourself. You are the only person who can change yourself. Not me, not God, but you." The commandments such as "Don't covet your neighbors wife" are guidelines to your Improvement.

I agree with parts of the Bible, such as the commandments, but most of the stories about Adam and Eve or Noah I think are just stories.

No, You can't - You must obey the Ten Commandments still. And you must ask God for Forgiveness for all your sins you have committed.

And Craze I love your statement! The Big Bang happened from nothing.
How is that possible? I mean they say there were other planets before this (As I read before) but where did they come from?

See we can always counter what the scientists says, and actually this new Science coming out is Pointing TOWARDS God!

@Craze77 I'm guessing yu don't understand the theory of evolution, like Xzeno says they are still evolving today it is a very gradual process. Though seaweed is probably not gonna evolve much further anytime soon. Thing is the balancing of mutations in the genes if no useful genes develop and get into the species bloodline animals won't evolve. To few mutations and the species lacks diversity, too manty and they aren't stable enough to survive.

@Pixie

Just say a seaweed grew in size... Is that evolution?

Grew in size how like a bit taller through growth or like "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" big. if it passes on traits that become wied spread thoughout the species it could be an evolutionary benefit. I'm taking about minute changes in coding of the DNA not huge things.

Okay lets say a Elephant was put on a small desert island for two years,

They come back and find that it has shrunk in size.

Is that evolution?

No evolution results through passing on genes like I say GRADUAL process over many years you can't evolve in 2 years.
The elephabt shrunnk because it had no food and probably had some kind of calcium defiency in its diet leaving its bones shrunken in comparison t other elephants.

I see you didnt read my post on the previous page on the big bang. It originated from a tiny singularity of infintisemal density and temperature.

I'm truely doubtful some diety suddenly spoke and rivers and animals were born.

You religouse fanatics really should try learning about the histroy of lizards and apes, those two subjects' theories of how they came to be shall give you an idea of what us evolutionists are trying to convey here.

I have read all about the biological sciences, and the more I read, the more I am convinced that random chance has less to do with what's around. I don't think evolution can be entirely discredited with what I've read, but I strongly believe that we were definitely created by a higher order. Before you call someone a fanatic, make sure you don't implicate yourself.

If the seaweed grew in size over time through reproduction, then yes. I see you're trying to make us feel stupid about our own explanations but it's actually counter effective for you. See, if the seaweed was stretched or a cow was given steroids or rolled around and consumed nuclear waste and became green, etc., that would be a mutation. Not evolution.

I am not totally disregarding a higher being Parsat. I look down on how Christians like to push the idea of an almighty lord in our face. Not as a stereotype that all Christians do so, just the fanatics. And some people are, say the captain of the myspace Christian Club, who's name is Craze77 and shall not be named. I'm sure that passes as a "fanatic". You can be an atheist, but also try not to push your idealistic views down someone's throat. I also don't like the way each side tries to portray each others views to seem foolish when they are totally over exaggerating. There is no point for this thread as it doesn't cover what is covered in hundreds and possibly thousands of threads in other forums in which you can read from archives. kthnxbai

ok, so if I get a monkey and keep it till it dies itll eventually be a human being?! Or if I grow seaweed, and I keep it alive throughout my lifetime itll eventuall be a monkey then become a human?! Yea Right.

Craze77, are you seriouse? we just explained that to you and yet you're still not getting it right! you've just asked that same question for the third time!

it happens by genetics and it takes thousands if not millions of years for a wooly mammoth to become an Asian Elephant for example. if you have a wooly mammoth calf for example, it will always be a wooly mammoth untile the day it dies.

Evolution is not 'random chance', creatures changing their characteristics over years and years in accordance to their environment to enable them to survive is not random. The environment they live in determines it.

Evolution is a gradual process taking thousands and thousands of years and many generations. Creatures do not change in one lifetime.
