You are just spoon feeding yourself lie justifications for obvious cruelty. Now look at the verses without any preconceived notations. It is cruel. But you look at it thinking it will be positive, so you see it positive. Just pretend for a second that you are reading it for the first time, and that you have no preconceived notions...
And, though they are called "young lads" in the KJV, this version calls them "Little children".
