I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

Vert3x told me to add this:

Realize, that moral excellence does not save a person. You talk about the good works that you have done, but what will they do for you? All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). No matter what a person does, they are still sinful. The only way a person can be saved is through belief in Jesus as one's Savior. Atheists may be good people, but in the end, only God can save a person, and only the person can choose to believe and be saved. Thanks. Your discussion with me has really helped me realize how much I have fallen away from God, and that I need to turn back to Him. I thank you all again. Bye for real now, lol.

why would god expect us to live up to him if we are but his inferior creations? Could you please answer that for me? I've always been curious about that aspect of Christianity.

I don't know, but He gave us the free will to choose whether to believe in Him or not!!!! That means He is only coercing us into believing with threats of burning in Hell for eternity, not forcing.

I have to say, I disagree. I find no evidence that evolutionists can make the jump in saying that a type of creature can evolve into another one. No proof of any in between species have ever been found

Which is the end result of sin, which we brought on ourselves. (You can thank Adam and Eve for that

We didn't bring sin upon ourselves, Adam and Eve allegedly did. Humanity is not a collective conscience, and God should realize that. The entire myth of Satan and hell is basically a result of God being wrong. He believed that the humans would not take the apple, but Lucifer said that they would. Lucifer spoke a few words about it, and proved God wrong. So, God went into damage control by turning him into a demon. That is why I don't believe in hell. I did not bring sin upon humanity. We did not bring sin upon humanity. So why are we punished for it?

The point of Hell is its the one place without God. The ones who go to hell are the ones who want to be completely separate from God. The only way free will could truly exist is if you could completely decide to keep God out of your life.

first of all God did not turn Satan into a demon. A demon is an angel who chose to separate themselves completely from God.

Secondly, Catholic tradition has it that Adam and Eve were especially gifted. They could talk to animals and understood all science. They represent the best humanity had to offer and they still failed.

Lastly, Adam and Eve closed the gates of heaven by their sin. God had been perfectly and ultimately insulted. He needed the perfect sacrifice by humanity to make up for its insult. So Jesus came down from heaven and offered the perfect sacrifice. So now you and I can go to heaven if you so wish.

I'm fairly sure I remember the story of how Satan was banished. He was an angle who made a cloak of shiny stones and claimed to be better than God. God then turned him into the devil because of his claims.

Yes I thought he was banished too. He was God's top angel but then he got too big for his boots and so got kicked out of heaven.

If God was so just he wouldn't punish people for sins they didn't commit.

Also, if God was just, there would allegedly be no hell. (I'm saying allegedly because we don't know if it is true or not) He wouldn't punish his children so severely if he was a kind and forgiving god.

Secondly, Catholic tradition has it that Adam and Eve were especially gifted. They could talk to animals and understood all science. They represent the best humanity had to offer and they still failed.

If they were so gifted, then why couldn't they grasp the concept of clothes? They had tree branches to make into spears, and apparently there were plenty of deer in Eden.
---------------------------------
On a more serious note, it doesn't matter for a flying fish how gifted they were, they were still different people. Opinion is a huge factor when it comes to things like this. If my mom replaced Eve, humanity would still be in Eden, because she is allergic to apples and afraid of serpents. In a word, it doesn't matter, they were just two people, and two people is an insufficient amount to represent all of humanity.

Yeah, you've sinned. But it's OK. I've sinned too. In fact, if you ask any Christian whether or not they have ever sinned, they would say yes (some of them would wrap their answer in bold tags :P). Everyone has sinned. Romans 3:32 states, "ALL men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

What? :P

If my mom replaced Eve, humanity would still be in Eden, because she is allergic to apples and afraid of serpents.

That may be the case, but Satan could have taken a different form that your mom might not mind as much... Perhaps a caterpillar? I don't even thing they would have had allergies back then either :P

Because there was no death in Eden, also this doesn't reflect the christian belief that they were just people.

If God was so just he wouldn't punish people for sins they didn't commit.

He doesn't, name one sinless person, other than Jesus.

No he told God that he want'd to be him, good said no there was a small battle God of course won and here we are today.

This discussion has gone nowhere since I came in. I ask questions, state facts, and nobody answers or says anything about some of them. I know, I did that to some of you too, but Vertex got those for me. If you go back to my list of things, there are a few that nobody said anything about. Just wanted to say that before I quit this discussion. So...after a few more pages of comments from you guys, I'll probably jump back in.
