I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

Woah, I was just saying thanks for telling. Congratulations on making the most of what you know at twelve. It's also completely human to defend your dignity.

It's okay. Just wanted you to know that age excuses wouldn't fly well in an Alt-infested thread emotion typically doesn't carry well over the internet.

Now, another thing to consider is that the bible is most likely not complete-because of the burnings of text by the Roman Caesars, much of the Scripture was probably lost. Many more morals and beliefs may be outlined through those lost scripts. I'm a skeptical agnostic, btw

Might as well add paganism in there... the devil worshipers and witch doctors and the hippopotamus neuter-ers.

almost every single christian on this thread will quote the bible, which is not Solid evidence, and pretty much get really pissy over little stuff such as poking holes in their theory. Most people who value logic and knowledge over hocus pocus, will go and make a new theory.

so yea the thread should be changed to religious beliefs vs. atheism.

. . .but as I mentioned earlier, there are many atheistic religions, so the generalization would be awkward and would lead to confusion and challenges like this that get us all offtopic.

That's a new one. Unfortunately, the letters of correspondence by the early church fathers (which prodigiously quoted the Scriptures) were not burned, and we have numerous manuscripts that have indeed survived such a fate.

But my point is that we still don't know just how much was burned and not quoted.

We still have over five thousand manuscripts of the New Testament surviving, in addition to the letters of the early church fathers and records of the ecumenical councils, which helped to establish concretely and confirm the Biblical canon. Even if we have "missing books," I do not believe that they would refute the core belief that Jesus was the son of the one God, and that he died on the cross and was resurrected three days later.

I wasn't saying they would- I was saying that there are many assumptions in creationism (things not in the Bible) and that those manuscripts may provide an explanation for them. It was more of a passing thought than a debate point, if anything.

So it seems I hitched on the middle of the train of thought. Where were we?

We were explaining why a 'religion vs. atheism' thread wouldn't work.

People haven't and probably never will find evidence that God does not exist. But for the Big Bang theory they are trying to go off of Science and by doing that they are proving them Selves wrong.. People say that they don't believe in God cause they don't Believe that something could just come from nothing and they believe in the big bang theory.. Now in the big bang theory the say that a huge explosion happened and everything appeared, Where did this explosion come from? If nothing existed how could there be an explosion?

True, yet many don't belive that a dieity known as god who has supernatural powers sitting in the clowds known as 'Heaven' created us.

They would rather belive in facts and science witch can prove of the exsistance of life forms and how they became. Such as gearms and bactira found on Mars.

The big bang theroy is not a pop that came from nowhere. A star, (Nebula) exploaded, not by itself but with the help of chemical reactions and whatnot. Certain gases formed and caused the exploasion.

@quickshift: I doubt anyone will debate the Big Bang with you here, because you have no idea what the hell it really is. Do some research.

@blaze: You don't seem to have the right definition either. . . .
------
Nothing would have had to have created the Big Bang, because time is relative to space, all the space was in the little compression there, and so our concepts of time, causation, creation and destruction would be useless in any application. Also, it reached critical mass and decompressed, it didn't explode. Then, the particles began reacting with each other and formed nebulae, stars, galaxies, and planets.

@thisisnotanalt

Thank you for the definition, I mean I tried to look back on Science class, but with my memoary I failed. So I gave it a shot.
