I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

Actually there is this thing called the fossil record, and sure, radiometric dating may not be perfect, but when you are talking about a margin of error of between 10,000-100,000 years when dating something that is actually millions of years old, that is a drop in the bucket. I know, I know, I was indoctrinated into the christian religion when I was a child because my parents didn't know any better, and my parents, the people I trusted most implicitly in the world told me carbon dating wasn't real or that it was wrong somehow. They believed it so I don't blame them, but come on man, don't freaking lie to people, especially about such simple and concretely proven matters.

I was reading the last page and I noticed the little section about the description for 'god' being taken from the greco-roman god Zeus, I just wanted to add that don't forget they also stole christmas, the roman catholic church was under the impression that if the adopted a holiday that the 'agans' were familiar with more might convert.

There are many curious similarities in a few religions.

My favorite is taking a look at Horus:

Horus Was born of the virgin Isis-Meri in December 25th in a cave/manger with his birth being announced by a star in the East and attended by three wise men.
His earthly father was named "Seb".
At age 12 he was a child teacher in the Temple, and at 30, he was baptized, having disappeared for 18 years.
Was baptized in the river Eridanus or Iaurutana (Jordan) by "Anup the Baptizer" (John the Baptist) who was decapitated.
He ad 12 disciples, two of whom were his "witnesses" and were named "Anup" and "AAn".
He performed miracles, exorcized demons and raised El-Azarus ("El-Osiris&quot from the dead.
Horus walked on water.
His personal epithet was "Iusa" the "ever-becoming son" of "Ptah," the "Father." He was called the "Holy Child."
He delivered a "Sermon on the Mount" and his followers recounted the "Sayings of Iusa."
Horus was transfigured on the Mount.
He was crucified between two thieves, buried for three days in a tomb, was resurrected.
Titles: Way, the Truth the Light; Messiah; God's Anointed Son; Son of Man; Good Shepherd; Lamb of God; Word made flesh; Word of Truth.
Was "the Fisher" and was associated with the Fish ("Ichthys&quot, Lamb and Lion.
He came to fulfill the Law.
Was called "the KRST" or "Anointed One."
Was supposed to reign one thousand years.

There are differences, certainly; but I do find it rather odd that so many prophets and gods from so many different religions have such striking similarities.

@Hiddendistance: we don't know that Jesus was born on December 25th. I think one of the Christian Roman Emporers dedicated that day so that there could be a celebration of Jesus's birth, but nobody recorded the day.
Also, just keep in mind that most religious beliefs will believe in an Annointed one, a Messiah, one who is supposed to reign and one who picks followers. Interesting about the crucifiction, though.

I think that like hiddendistance said you can find a lot of similer things in different religons but if you take a close look at christianity you will find that Jesus's for filled every single proficy where as other religos leaders fell short

I take it you wish to debate this. . . .
---
Christianity = only source verifying it needs verification. Believes in logically impossible things. Blind faith in some things.

Atheism = free from the burden of proof in response to theism. Based on logic. Logic is based on what is true and correct. Atheism, therefore, is based on what is based on being true sands correct. How, then, if atheism 'stupid' when Christianity isn't? I don't want some small-minded rebuttal, I want a reason.

thisisnotanalt to be honest with you I am a christian and all ways will be and I can tell you that if you want to you can go out and find some way to disprove alot that is in the bible the evidence can be weak or strong but it is fath that sets the 2 appart if you are a christian you know the truth

if you are a christian think and believe you know the truth

fixed. My point is that faith doesn't equal knowing something. Faith is believing in something. Many Christians don't know the difference. Faith is believing in something, even when it could be untrue, and most likely is. Faith has nothing to do with what is correct. Therefore, it's not knowing the truth in any way, it's believing you do. also, please use proper spelling and grammar like. . .uhm. . .almost everybody else, because it makes your posts easier to read and respond to. Thanks

ya sorry about the spelling I will try to run it through word from now on I get it all the time at school. But you are right a lot of Christians don't know the difference and that is what is making us very weak and easy to fight with and if you don't mind me asking what are you
