I dont understand why they put in the level 3 mutation quest, it seems like just a way of baiting people into buying diamonds or doing surveys for free diamonds. I have opened over 40 chests and got no mutations at all.
Are legendary expeditions worth the 6000 gold requirement? They seem to drop legendary items as well as mystery keys, which appear to be the main items needed for the last 2 quests. I understand you need to save up a fair bit of gold to level all the buildings to 5, but besides that do you need gold for anything (assuming I'm only interested in the quests and don't plan to play on further)?
The wiki says that Brawls can drop both legendary items and mystery keys. Is the drop rate for this affected by the number of pylons destroyed or the number of kills by the player?
Also does it make any difference loot-wise if you're battling with actual players as opposed to AI for Single Battles, Arena or Brawls?
Advice is to keep doing brawls to get the legendary items, seems the easiest way to do it (Gold can be spent on buildings that helps your stats. Then again if you're aiming only for the Quests, you could probably just spend the gold on expeditions). Just spend the time not brawling to farm for skulls.
I don't think the number of pylons downed affects the drop rate. The main thing is just to win. Even if you're the last on the winning team, your chest still has a chance to contain a Legendary item.
Thanks for the tips! Now that I'm more or less done with the first 5 quests, I'll just focus on brawls.
Regarding skull farming, I got 300 or so free from torch codes, but haven't seen any dropping as loot. The wiki again says that they drop from single battles, so would it be ok just to keep doing single battles for skulls?
Unrelated: I found these 2 torch codes on the wiki, don't think anyone has posted them here yet:

00009C9737CC245530C7A6EBEF3753EC
They give out 30RP each (currency used in the tournament shop). To put that in perspective, 1 archaic fragment costs 16RP and a level 1 mutation costs 80RP, so 60RP seems pretty handy.
Oh I think you hit the maximum from fighting. There's a limit to the number you can hold at once from the fighing (100?) but I can't remember how much.
Ok I may just be insanely lucky or something, but from my 1st 10 Cryptic Chests I've already received 1 each of aura, gigantism and fleeting mutations plus 5 fragments. Plus I got 100 diamonds and 90 RP from torch codes during the Christmas event, so I will actually end up getting the mutation quest before the legendary or even 100 single battles.
Seems like the quests for this game are quite easy actually. Once you finish 100 single battles, with a few brawls on the side, you should have enough gold for level 5 Academy (to unlock mutations and mystery chests) and level 5 Blacksmith (to allow you to meld items to get the legendary).
Then you just need to login daily to accumulate diamonds and wait around for 1 of their events, and you should get the remaining diamonds and stuff you need from torch codes.
Edit: That is, if you don't actually enjoy the game. If you enjoy it, then play it properly. But if you're just a quest hunter who's not really fond of the game, there's at least a simple way to get the quests without much effort
Edit 2: I guess I did get really lucky with my 1st 10 chests. Next 10 gave me zero mutations and 1 single fragment (plus a whole ton of generally useless equipment)
Turns out I spoke too soon about luck. I happily melded 3 epics and 2 flawless thinking that would be all for the legendary quest, and then the **** thing spat out an epic.
I'm thinking about starting this today. Has anything changed (from patches and updates to the game) to affect how these quests will be earned or how long they will take? What kind of learning curve am I looking at, something easy, moderate, really difficult? Lastly, was there anyone who enjoyed this, seems to be a consensus that this is a rather arduous grind, but was there any enjoyment to be had?
@Reton8 I can't speak for all the quests but imo this was one of the most enjoyable turn based games on the website and I played it 6 months ago I didn't get the quest with the mutations though, or the one that's about looting an item of legendary rarity.
The other 5 quests can be attained pretty quickly, with 3 - 4 days of casual playing. I don't think you can accelerate it too much, because it depends on daily events but at least it's not on par with idle games
In general, the game is not that hard, so I would label everything I played 'moderate'. Until you complete the main story event (or around that time, it happened to me when I reached about level 13) when you stop fighting bots and start fighting other players at least. Still, until then, matches are an easy way to level up
@reton8 A tip is to join a guild and do guild warfare, Since the reward at end of week is RP (which can be used to buy mutations or fragments.) Aswell as other things. This is a game i continued to play after doing quests. Decent community and its good the way the fighting system is with matching up against people in your tier range.
Most info should be on the wikia but if you can't find what your looking for just ask and i'll clarify. Also note it took me 2 months to get the level 3 mutation quest done.
Thank you both for the information. When it comes to the MMO quests I like to know what kind of challenge I'm looking into lol. I'm not so worried about this now knowing you both enjoyed playing this
