I'd move my furniture in front of the doors, lock them, and nail the windows up, and then I'd grab my Winchester 20 guage, and watch the lower parts of my house, and blast any zombies that come through. Also, me dad would be up top with his hunting rifle picking them off as they come
....:
1. It's not a game, not EVERY zombie's coming after you, unless your living on a mountain with no neighboors for the next 3 miles.
2. Your not gonna find a zombie right off the bat, there's going to be maybe 100 of them in 10 minutes, and there will be around 1k survivors within a week. That's if your
lucky though.
3. Do you have the boards and nails to board up your windows?
4. Your going to run out of food with that plan, and quick at that. You need a food and water source.
Now then, to check out ledmonds plan....
As I live in England guns aren't legal here so I would improvise by getting the golf clubs in my home to try and fight them off if I got into a sticky situation.
Even though Golf Clubs are heavy, easy to use, and long ranged for a hand to hand weapon, I don't recommend anything without a blade. Yes, they are capable of breaking a bone and bashing a head, but it is always eisier if you take the blade approach. I recommend you take some fencing lessons or practice outside with a stick, then buy some sort of sword to practice with. I did.
fuel consumption* level
I chuckled when I saw this, just say MPG or Miles Per Gallon next time so that some of the less intelligent (not pointing fingers) members won't get confused.
it is small
I see that your going ASAP. This is often a bad choice unless you are in a remote area. News of a zombie outbreak is gonna have EVERYONE freaking out. There's gonna be riots, and people will be more than happy to shoot another person at one point of time because they wanted something you did, and a golf club woulnd't be able to fight off a gun (considering they might have raided before you. When your going to go out in(we recommend) 1 or 2 weeks, I recommend you try and figure out how to hotwire, that'll get you a motorcycle or a moped, which can be eaisily armored, fast, and can go in between all of the idle traffic of dead cars and bodies from the riots.
Your right, it isn't a perfect plan, and there's definetly room for improvment.
I recommend a couple of things:
1. Make traps when you finally have a stable environment.
2. I recommend you make your own food, it'll help making something of a stronghold, and years of traveling can be weary on your body.
3. go high or low, mines or mountains are probably some of the best things I could think of right now.
4. If there are no mines or mountains near you, bank vaults and armories are very good panic rooms.
Good plan, but I think you should change it around before you get in.
