The Federal Reserve tries to manipulate the economy in order to prevent recessions. The result is inflation and a bigger recession. You cannot spend your way out of debt. That's the guiding policy of socialist economics.
Why should a man in a socialist government work hard if it's all but impossible to fire him?
You assume everyone in the world is motivated by greed like you are...
I would be more than enough motivated to do all I can to advance mankind
Big government always leads to less freedom
Really? So you link socialism and fascism?!?! How wrong you are.
Fascism (on the right wing of the political spectrum) decreases personal freedoms
Socialism (on the left wing of the political spectrum) increases government involvement in your life but in a different way, it does not remove freedoms.
Just because the government runs your school doesn't ean they tell yuo what you learn. In a Socialist government students would be more open to choosing their own learning paths earlier.
The love of money is the root of all evil.
Which is the root of the idea that a man who isn't working for personal gain in a Socialist government isn't working at all.
No its not :-$ No Socialist would advocate the Federal Reserve, it is a tool of capitalist imperialism.
Socialism refers to various theories of economic organisation advocating public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources, and a society characterised by equal access to resources for all individuals with an egalitarian method of compensation.
The path to hell is paved with good intentions. Fascism and socialism lead to similar restraints on freedom once a less than holy man grabs to reins. EVERYONE is motivated by rational self-interest. Sorry. Few people will work hard just to benefit society.

Personal gain is why people work. They work because they need to survive, not because they want to advance humanity. There are few to none jobs that advance anything other than that capitalistic society you hate so much. Good luck finding a job that advances humanity, unless you plan for a doctorate.
Fascism (on the right wing of the political spectrum) decreases personal freedoms
Wrong in two ways.
Fascism is towards the bottom, along with communism, just a bit more centered than left. NOT right.
It doesn't always decrease personal freedoms. In fact it's only the dictators usually involved that do that.
Socialism (on the left wing of the political spectrum) increases government involvement in your life but in a different way, it does not remove freedoms.
In 20% of socialistic societies and 40% of socialistic countries.
The federal reserve is in direct opposition to captialism. It's intervening in the economy, and sorry, but socialists DO support it, their main criticism being that it doesnt intervene enough. The main mistake of the socialist today is assuming THIS is capitalism.

I once saw this excellent story which makes a pretty good shot at socialism
A professor performs an experiment on his pro-socialist classroom. He decides to average out, or socialize, the test scores. Everyone in the class gets a B. The people who didn't study were happy, those who would have gotten an A werre pissed.
The next week, students studied a little less, why bother, if you wont get the score you worked for? The class average was a C.

And by that, Just to clarify I meant that I agree that the Janitor's job is shit, and therefore should be paid in accordance to what it is. It doesn't advance humanity, its just that we don't have perfect mechanical trashmen.
Whether they scratch by or not, eventually they clean up some mess. They could hate the job but its good they know they're working for so and so an hour, and they will not expect 20432984032984 so a year.
