Story here.

Do you think this was a smart choice?

Will he be able to pick up Hilary supporters?

Will McCain lose/gain some ground on his argument that Obama lacks experience?

Or do you not care because the vice-president doesn't actually do anything?

Does she actually have any political qualifications? Beside being governor or whatever for 2 years?

And they criticized Obama for his lack of experience. What a bunch of lame hypocrites. He has like... 5 times the experience of this lady.

it's true. I don't believe she has ever served a full term in office for any position, and the only positions she has ever held were mayor of wasilla, which is barely a position, seeing how wasilla is a small town full of hicks, farmers, and meth addicts, and then governor of alaska for I think two years, maybe one, I forget now. I can tell you one thing though, she has done an awesome job as our governor. I haven't met anybody who had anything bad to say about Sarah Palin.

plus she's giving me $1200 on top of my $1800 permanent fund dividend for gas, so you know, I'm pretty happy about that.

Hahaha, how's this for Palin's religious values, her whore of a 17 year old daughter is preggers and unwed. Hahah. Family values my ass. What a liar joke you know what, she is a good candidate for a Republican VP. Liar and corrupt and quite possibly evil. HAHAHA she fits right in.

Not really, Carlie. She has a Bachelor's in Journalism, and started her political "career" on the PTA.

I think chooseing Palin as Mccain's running mate was a good move, because now more women will vote for him. And while she may not have alot of experience, she gives really good speaches. I think that when she said "Hillary Clinton left 18,000,000 cracks in the glass" was a very good line.

Weird, so did Hitler.

I'm not comparing her to Hitler, but I'm saying that speeches aren't exactly the best things to base politics on.

From a Political standpoint Hitler was very successful though. He managed to Unify a country and take command. He obviously didn't do good things with his power, but he was a very powerful and motivating leader.

I really don't understand why McCain chose Palin. Seems like a joke. He had so many other choices, and he chose someone that he met twice for 15 minutes. Oh well, more power to Obama.

Yeah, I think alot of people will pick at that weekness and say that she is inexperenced. But I atill agree with Flipski. McCain had alot of way better people that he could have picked. I think the Big reason why people don't like his choice is because McCain is 72, so there isn't exactly a low chance that somthing would happen to him if he got elected.

That's funny...
All that you are basing your support for Obama on is his eloquence and his campaign promises.

Hitler promised to make Germany great, to establish a glorious "Third Reich" that would last for 1,000 years. He also promised "ethnic cleansing". This was the birth of the holocaust. Many Germans voted for him because of his eloquence and his empty promises. You would do the same by voting for Obama.

Although Obama is quite eloquent, I am not voting for him solely because of his ability to speak. I'm voting for him because of his policies.
Agetn_86 , what do you think about McCains choice? I am interested in what you have to say about his decision, do you think he could have done better?

Exactly, it is only because he thinks it will get him votes. Not because she is qualified. Not because she will do a good job. Who cares if she gives good speeches? I want to know if she can run the country.

I'm having an issue with how her daughter having a child is being handled. the democrats and the general media have gone very easy on her. I think that if it were a democratic candidate whose teen daughter had a child out of wed-lock the "relgious right" would have gone crazy with criticisms.

Well they have gone crazy on her, too. If you actually listened to Rush Limbaugh's program today, he was being hard on her, but he was being harder on her daughter. Sarah Palin can't make decisions for her daughter, and the same is true for Biden's son (who is under investigation for conflict of interest as a lobbyist) and Gore's son (who had a DUI in his Prius days before the 2000 DNC). These politicians shouldn't be ripped for the choices their children made.
