My personal opinion is that guns are just fine. Guns help us provide security for our families if something ever happens, but I want to here your opinions.
@Moegreche. The gun laws aren't that lenient. If you have committed a felon, or have had domestic abuse charges, then you can't legally buy a gun. Gun shops are really good about that. The majority of crimes committed with guns are with illegal guns. Our laws shouldn't be overhauled, we just need to crack down on gun trafficking.
Ehh, the only purpose in guns is to put holes in things. Do we really need to revolve our lives around a thing that put holes in other things?
They aren't needed and people cling to their guns for silly reasons whereas if they had the slightest back ground check before purchase we would hardly need them.
In response to the knives comment, knives are far more practical then guns, there for you cannot compare the two
They are both tools, therefore, they can be compared. Both were developed with the singular intention of killing something. Knives may have MORE uses, but that doesn't mean that they're not just as deadly. Also, taking away guns doesn't take away bows, which can still be used to kill. Guns are more effective for hunting, so why should they be taken away?
Note: I hunt for food, not for sport. Only sport shooting I do is target shooting.
Here is my issue with guns. If people lose their guns they lose an important item to defend themselves with. Well, you may think that people will also not kill with guns because the won't have any but if you are going to kill someone with a gun, then you will have a gun no matter if its legal or not. This means that the only people hurt would be those who would use guns only to defend themselves if guns became illegal to have in a house or to own.
If they decide to ban guns, then what will most definitely happen: arms trafficking. Now I think that most governments around the world are dealing with the same exact issue, could you imagine the possible SPIKE if guns were banned? It'd be distratous. I mean, first guns that were restricted or banned are already coming in but now you have all types of things! It's ridiculous. I mean, they've already banned 2 gun clubs in the City of Toronto -- it's not going to curb anything!
Keeping guns in one location is another bad idea (i.e. fire, robbery, etc.) -- yeah, all those guns aren't going to do a darn thing.
Okay, even if you do keep it in a lock boxed, a child can have easy access to it (i.e. a key, pick locking, etc.)
Not necessarily, although some people are careless with where they keep their guns, most people probably keep them in a safe. And whoever has the gun probably doesn't tell the code to their children.
Anyways, I LOVE gun rights, I think it would be ridiculous to take them away from the people. It is a way to defend yourself in a tough situation (ex: break in, crazy serial killers, etc...) Some people like too go hunting and target shooting too. Did you know that one of the things Hitler did was outlaw guns to the general public? He did this so that way the people could not defend themselves from the gestapo and such. So if the U.S. outlaws guns, we become one step closer to being a communist country =D.
guns...well,guns are not bad, only the way you use them.example if you use them to catch a criminal, then you used it for good.but if you use it to kill someone, then its bad
Im a huge supporter for the constitution and i didnt see it posted so here it is:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The government cant eliminate the right of the people to have guns and weapons (within reason) and in the event the US or any government that had gun rights built into their constitution so much as tried to eliminate the right you would have a massive public outcry or civil war. Yes i know there are ways to avoid both but thats another story.
