My personal opinion is that guns are just fine. Guns help us provide security for our families if something ever happens, but I want to here your opinions.
I was robbed at gunpoint a few years ago. I hate guns and wish they'd all disappear. But it's easy to wish that when you've had a gun shoved in your face and threatened with death. I don't give a damn about the second amendment or the gun nuts.
Try being shot or try staring down the barrel of a handgun. It's easy to say guns are great when you waving one around and shooting each other in the face while hunting. But I could have been killed by a teenager who was able to get a handgun. Thanks to a society that lets children have access to guns very easily. And the guns themselves. All the cashiers and bank tellers of the world thank you.
Some people feel like banning guns would help out a lot with the issues of murder. There are many points against this that I can think of.
As Moe said earlier, people will find ways to kill each other regardless of what the laws are.
Remember what happened when alcohol was banned? People started bootlegging and selling the stuff behind the scenes. If guns were illegal, less criminals will own guns but the ones who do own guns would use them more (because they would have less worries of running into individuals with a pistol by their bed). Yes, if guns were banned criminals would still own guns because there are already black markets selling illegal guns to anybody willing to pay the price. The black markets would rise in bussiness a lot.
There would also be an increase in certain animals such as deer and in some places deer and other "game" are problems as is. Hunters help keep the population of game animals down. Of course you may think that animals that are overhunted would finally be free to thrive again but hunting seasons and restrictions really help make sure that there are no problems of over hunting.
If guns were banned then hunters would not be able to hunt for their own meat, many places would go out of bussiness (hunting lodges, the place you take meat in to get it turned into sticks or jerky, many hunting expos and so on and so on).
Guns are tools and they are only as bad as the people handling them.
Well, this is probably originally used to defend yourself but as always, someone in the world has to ruin it to kill people for absolutely no reason. I don't know who started it but I think it was in the 1500s?
Guns arnt good nor evil there in the middle soldiers use them in war they kill people they destroy menkind but at the same time there used for good you use them to protect yourself and you use them to kill a normal person just for fun weapons are needed no matter what happens without weapons then what no wars no chaos the world will grow for some it seems like a good thing but thing about it.
Well, a gun in itself isn't good or evil. It's just an object for firing projectiles at a high rate of speed. In the hands of someone who's getting robbed, it's a good thing. In the hands of someone who's about to kill you, it's a bad thing. But just taking the guns away won't solve the problem. If someone really wants to kill you, they won't stop because they don't have a gun. They'll probably be bolder because they know that you can't have a gun. There are many more ways to kill someone than just with a bullet.
what happens without weapons then what no wars no chaos the world will grow for some it seems like a good thing but thing about it.
Well, if all the possible weapons in the world were taken away, there would be nothing left. You can kill soeone with just about anything, and if there is nothing left to kill people with, there is always the art of karate.
There are many more ways to kill someone than just with a bullet.
Bullets sure do make it easy though, don't they? Pretty sure paramedics would have a way better chance of saving someone from a severe beating than from a gunshot wound on their way to the hospital.
Well there is a saying "guns don't kill people, people kill people." But I don't agree. You never see anyone in the middle of the parking like yell "BANG!" and another person drop dead. Guns are fine depending on how you use them.
Cough cough..... Anyway, I think guns are unnesesary. Many people may say you need them to protect yourself, but if no-one else has a gun, why would you need one? I'm sure most of us have seen 'Bowling for Columbine' by Michael Moore (actually it's my english topic this term) and no matter how biased that thing is its telling the truth when it says a nation with guns will have more deaths than one without.
A nation with guns doesn't have more deaths than ones without. In Sweden there is a militia, and almost every man there has a gun. Crime is lower than the US there. But there is a lot of crime involving guns in Britain, and they have some of the strictest gun laws in Europe.
With guns come the ability to kill easier, faster, and more succesfully. They also allow people to hunt and protect their families. Guns are nothing more than tools. It is how they are used which determines if they are good or bad. Pencils are bad when used to stab people in the eyes but overall good since they allow us to write and draw.
