My personal opinion is that guns are just fine. Guns help us provide security for our families if something ever happens, but I want to here your opinions.
You're just jealous because you Euros don't have the right to own guns. It's very necessary to have a gun here in Los Angeles, especally after dark. You Euros have a sheltered life, there's no South Central or Watts where you're from, is there?
There are very strict sanctions in the way to buy weapons in gun shops. There is in most states a 24 hour waiting period, and if they don't have that it's a week. The waiting period is there so a kid with bad intentions can cool off, or suicidals can too
A one day waiting period is not strict legislation at all. It is frankly a joke. Someone who is gonna shoot up a kl isnt gonna change their mind in 24 hours. Especially if they have gone so far as to have gone to get a permit already.

Well, the truth is, many "gun toting maniacs shooting up the school yards and doing drive-bys" would get guns anyway, even if all guns were banned. Many of your Euro gangster friends do so. Most of the guns out of South Central have either been smuggled in from south of the border or have been stolen. And if the people have the right to own guns, at least they have a way to defend themselves from the "gun-toting maniacs". And if the gangsters couldn't get ahold of guns, there would be more deaths by beating, etc. There are many more ways to kill someone than just by a gunshot.
Give the right to bear arms; just make it hard as hell to abuse the right. At least one-month waiting periods and background checks on everyone applying for a gun license, and a permit should be required for every sort of firearm. Also, the production of firearms should be regulated to the extreme, and the sales well-documented.
guns are bad, and we can live without them, also, most killings are caused by guns so the world would be alot better without them also, it's not neccessary to own a gun in L.A.

lol. A bit extreme perhaps dizzyk but its not going to happen. The US has a coded constitution which means nothing on it can ever be changed. If the bill was introduced even if the congress, and the senate agreed to it then the Supreme Court would overule the descision as part of their job is to make sure new laws dont conflict with the constitution. So no matter how much people complain aout it with the current political system it can never be changed.

In the '30s, a constitutional amendment was passed banning the sale of liquor in the US. ten years later, another constitutional amendment pverturned the previous amendment, making the sale of alcohol legal again. This 10 year period was known as the Prohibition.

You didn't get my point. The only way to overturn a constitutional amendment is to pass another constitutional amendment. To do that, The congress has to pass it by a 2/3 majority and a 2/3 of the state's legislatures also have to pass it. Then it goes to the President's desk.
I think they're good to collect and use for sport but not fo rmass murders and I think that all people need a gun license before they can even touch a gun and I think their records should be checked in case of any emotional trauma or anything else in that manner. I'm also strongly against the no machine gun law.
